I like 'mud and like to see this section grow, so you can y'all listen to me babble.

In the bull pin is the Yeasu 8800. Wading through my options here on install.

(I get antenna placement is important for SW etc). With that said thinking a Comet hinged CA-2X4SRNMO running down the bed and hinged vertical in back corner OR up on the Prinsu.

Researching entry point into the cab for cabling and the 8800 has a remote face and where to place it.

Im guessing I could follow the path of the rear camera in the tailgate for wiring maybe?

 MetalTech sliders ordered. Now to go get them or see if anyone is traveling south on I5 when they are ready.

I LOVED my original MT 80 sliders.

Look up the OEM tail gate lock. There are a few videos online.
Basically the wiring follows the rear camera line and other lines up to the passenger side seat. There are a couple plugs under the seat. The OEM kit comes with a new plug attached to the harness. I bet you could utilize that under seat plug for the Ant. Cable.

That's a great idea!

I just bought the Yaesu FTM-400 and I'm using Taco Garage's DMM (Dash Multi-Mount) for the faceplate. I plan on mounting my hinged antenna on the roof rack since I didn't know how best to run it out to the tailgate. On the passenger side firewall, there was an unused pass-thru in the giant rubber grommet (looks like a rubber nipple) so I used that to run the antenna cable from the radio (under the passenger seat) through the firewall, and up the windshield to the roof rack.... I just have to remember to fold it down before I pull into the garage.

I like that radio :).

Just can’t justify the cost having the 8800 sitting here

Ok, speaking of radio.... or infotainment thing or Etuner head unit or whatever they call it.

Anybody notice how PAINFULLY slow it is going between functions? Like to the point I 2nd guess if I even hit the button.

Cool, let me know how they work out!
Pretty low priority but cheap, the stock ones kind of suck. Full details on TW. They are from a RAV4 with a slight mod, but still pretty plug and play.

I honestly use carplay more anything.

Little plastic insert you have to pull out on the Rav4 knobs. 5 minute job and worth it on the occasion you use the knob.
I have not noticed a slow response on mine.
I use Android Auto but I mostly listen to a USB thumb that I have about 500 songs down loaded to.
That Tacoma World has a lot of good info but there are some knuckle heads on there that comment some smart ass remark on nearly every post and usually the post will run way off topic.
Makes me appreciate Mud that much more.
FYI that is the correct part number Retro posted. Other year Rav4 knobs won't work apparently.

Ok, looking at adding about 1" lift. From my general research bang for buck for our use came up with:

Front / Rear Bilstein 5100's

Icon AAL

And if needed JBA UCA's (high caster model..... I think)

Missing something? Bad idea?

@gnob and I were texting, to lazy to send him all the links; so flagging him here.

Looks like the ucas are still specing(sp) something other than oem BS wheels.
I'm dense, trying to wrap my head around that, but from my primitive understanding the UCA (higher caster model) will return the caster after lift and push the axle slightly forward to accommodate larger tires without having to play with BS or spacers.

I'm I understanding that correct?

Ok, seems like most that run 285's are using a -0 offset wheel, which is fine, since I hate the stock wheels. But I may forgo 285 and drop a size.
