Commuting the last couple months has brought back the achilles heal of my LC. I DD my LC and want to put 500000000 miles on it (I dont want a commuter I wanna drive this awesome vehicle)! Feels like the gas station has once again become my second home! I looked into LRAs when I first bought it and followed that “OEM tank” thread religiously. The concern keeps coming back to CA with carb etc checks…couldnt get a clear picture as to smog check concerns but the fact you have to ship out of state seemed self-answering…
Any CA folks with some perspective please chime in (or DM).

From someone in ca who plans to do this mod, it doesn’t seem like a problem once you source the tank.

Smog shouldn't be an issue. The tank is well concealed with no real externally visible cues. Much beyond what the any normal or eagle eyed tech would know to look for.

Getting the tank requires an in person "for offroad" transaction. DM me if you need more info

It’s only 12 gallon but as the factory sub tank uses the same filler it is completely invisible for smog. Not that WA is checking, they shut down all their smog stuff a couple years ago.

Whats this about OEM tank? are people doubling up?

I am on the waiting list for an LRA... but I agree... the range on this thing really stinks! Would love to go duel OEM tanks if that were an option

@Eric Sarjeant has built a couple of 200s with dual tank set ups. One build would fill up the stock tank when it was low. Pretty cool setup. You might check with him about details. Good luck
