Back For More W/ Question- Amateur Radio

Hi all- I am back. Soon my 40 will have a new PS pump and idle. After my Tundra starter gets changed and I can drive again! It is underneath the intake manifold so it's a job- hopefully this weekend --

I got my FCC Technician license in August 2008, my General (HF) a month or two ago, and will have my HF station up soon.
I just got a YEASU VX-8R HT and would like to clone it w/ the repeater offsets, NM channels, etc. I seem to remember "all" the HDC peeps getting licensed so if anyone has the cable/ a radio compatible I'd sure like to get going with it-
I was in Anaheim getting some training this week and stopped by HRO and rather than get a new HF/VHF/UHF transceiver I decided to get what I was able to use 9- months ago.

I can send you a file from my VX-5R that might work with your VX-8R. Look at the VX-Commander software (Google is your friend) and see if they have a version for your HT. If they do, then I have a cable that should work.

Thanks, Mike, Jon, Evan- I am going to work on my Extra after I get some experience operating on HF.

Just got back from Anaheim (no Disney) doing some training and I was on road for almost 2- weeks. busy/ left again. Up at 3:30 am to get home. And sleep a couple of hours.

Mike, I'll check on that and will def. take you up on the offer.

- I didn't get the APRS stuff; I may join the ARES Group but after thinking of S.A.R.- second time I missed work Monday 'cause somebody is out in the boonies utterly unprepared it'd be quitting time.
OTOH- if you did help someone, it'd be great.
SAR guys eyes almost pooed out when I told 'em I had a 'Cruiser!!
