B diesel injector pump failed (1 Viewer)

Put out this on the diesel forum but no response, yet. Does anyone know of an injector pump for an early B motor or a source for the individual hard parts. How much work is swapping to a gas motor or other BJ diesel is involved if I can find one? Advice will be appreciated.

3B is an easy swap.. same engine mounts positions. There is some complexity with transmission mount depending on what bell housing you use though.

Any photos of the cam issue in your pump (just for my interest)..

The only picture I have at hand show the offending #2 port. I am going to try disassembling it to hopefully see just some debris clog or worn out/broken springs. That'd still be a major issue as, so far, I haven't found any source for parts.
A 3B would be great anyway if I can find one. A 5 speed, too. You listening Santa???

Just a thought, maybe other Japanese diesel engines might have similar parts in the injector pumps. Perhaps a local injector shop with old school people would recognize parts. You be able to find parts diagrams on line to look threw.

It's a Japanese Zexel unit. They made them for Toyota. Zexel is a part of the Bosch Group.

Remove injection pump, send to Diesel Fuel Injection Services in Portland, OR.

They rebuild and send back to you and you reinstall and away you go.

Thank you gentlemen. Excellent advice. I shall remove the pump and contact the folks in OR. I have found the appropriate drawings for this pump now. It may have to wait 'til after the holidays with family descending on the Casa. Again, thanks and I hope y'all have a pleasant holiday.
