AHA!!! You mean like that down below??? :flipoff2:

Screw Arnold

Man. If only I could drink beer and selectively kill the brain cells that will remember those photos. Ughhhh....

I am assuming that high mileage 4.7's will not be a candidate for this turbo i.e. much like the TRD forewarning.

Damn that is nice.

Yes, disconnect the front shaft and lock the center diff. With the 02 we had to pull the main ABS fuse as well. Doesn't like it when the back wheels turn and the front's not. Traction control keeps kicking in,.

I would think if it wasn't a 4 wheel dyno, it isn't really an accurate indication of power /torque at the wheels. Didn't you remove about half of the driveline losses? I thought there were some 4 wheel dynos around Denver thinking back to my Audi S4 days (lot's of modded S4's in CO)

350 ft-lbs at the wheels  :censor:
What kind of drivetrain % loss do you think we have being full-time 4wd?
20-25% (420-440 ft-lbs) Then bring that bad boy down to me at ~500ft,

That is VERY nice Christo.

edit: just noticed RWHP, so figure what 15-20%? Still, super sweet and with good looking curves.

I believe one loses about 3% hp for every 1000 ft gained, so figure 15% more hp at sea-level.

Looking at my Hyper-Rev Landcruiser Vol78 book, they have three turbines listed for the 100 series. One is a Garrett (HKS GT3037) claiming 300hp+ (list is 280,000 yen w/ a couple of pipes included), one says "Toyota" on it and is 215,000 yen, the last is a CT15B (I think these are genuine Toyota turbines, as there's a CT26 for the 80 series and CT12B for the 70 series). I think these are really intended for the HDJ100, though. There are also 3 different intercooler kits (largest is 560,000 yen, two others for 168,000 and 138000 yen). There's also a head gasket kit for the 2UZ engine, claiming higher power and torque (guess you can run more boost?) for about $500.

That is true, except that I don't think it would be removing half the losses. More imporant is the gains and that it was done on the same dyno. I have not been able to locate one, but then again this was done in a hurry and we went to a friends shop. It would certainly be easier if we do not have to drop the driveshafts every time.

Hi there
This is Ahmed from United Arab Emirates – Dubai it is nice to see some guys interesting to pump the power on those V8 motors.
First of all, please excuse my poor English it is not my first language.
Sleeoffroad I have some info and I want to share it with you it may help you in your project
Wile back in 98 I was the first guy in UAE who owned a V8 Landcruiser Turbo and you know how is hard to find some parts to complete your project for a new car, I sent some parts for some Manufacturer in USA and AUS to get the part done like low compression pistons and Crower Con Rod.
The first time I was running an extra two injectors before the throttle body but we face a problem the last two pistons #7 & # 8 broke because we was running lean, then I contact Ray Hall In AUS and he send me a biggy back computer- Autronic which is solved the problems. So you don't need that extra injector's just use a biggy back computer and that’s it.

Auto tranny….you can run the turbo with 5 psi with out any problems but if you go more the tranny will not hold.

The weak things in the Toyota V8 motor are the pistons and the Con rode they will not hold for long time so for any buddy looking for more post change those things first.

Regarding the Biggy back computer you can use E-management from Greddy.

Here is some pictures of the fastest Land Cruiser and yes it is in UAE
I have some videos for it when they are trying the car with SLR yes Mercedes SLR and it show that the Speedo of the SLR at 270 and still the Cruiser in front of it

The bad things are those pictures taken from my phone and this is the BEST.
i'll try to find another clear pictures from my friends

Regarding the E-programmer to be honest with you i don't know which model but i can ask for you, i have the insulation instruction for it.

Nice...Ahmed... who made those piping? Or come along with the Turbo kit?
By the way, are you the one with the 500hp white 80 series from Dubai?

This is a custom kit i did everything on it, i bought the Alum. piping from a speed shop over here and i changed the location of the turbo like what you see in the pictures.

This car was running stock ECU with additional injectors and fuel cut difencer from HKS and i can boost the car to 14PSI with out any problem with the shown turbo.

I don't know how much hp this car pumps but I swear the S500 owner can't read the rear plate # of my car with his full speed

UAEguy, thanks for the info. Yes, when Terry from AVO was here he told us about the extra stuff that people in Dubai does with these trucks and I can believe that with the pnushiment that you guys put them through it is needed.

Here in the US we are a little more conservative in the power gains. There are just not that many places where you can drive the truck at +100mph. So the boost and power is dialed down.

We do have a piggy back computer that runs the extra two injectors and it seems to do the trick. I can believe that at your settings it might now be.

Also we have emissions, O2 sensors and open and closed loop conditions to deal with. Plus if we put to much fuel in the truck under certain coditions the stock ecu will take it out again.

Auto tranny….you can run the turbo with 5 psi with out any problems but if you go more the tranny will not hold.

We are looking to see what can be done. I can believe that with to much hp the tranny will not be happy. Also the tranny that you run is not the same as ours.

The weak things in the Toyota V8 motor are the pistons and the Con rode they will not hold for long time so for any buddy looking for more post change those things first.

Would like to get more info on this.

Regarding the Con Rod and the pistons.
The Con Rod is so thin and will bend and will not hold the extra force and that's because we were running 12 PSI on T72 Greddy Turbo.
Pistons also I'm not sure about it because the Gulf specs are different than US specs.
If you are not going for too much boost, no problem running the stock pistons at all but for extra boost they will become like a powder it is not a fuel problems it is from the quality of the pistons they can't stand for high heat like forged pistons.

Did you try to use a Fuel regulator instead of piggy back computer? For low boost we didn't run any extra injector and some time with small turbos we didn't use any feeds or extra fuel.

I have a set of the custom pistons i used on my car if you wan't i can show you a pix of them.

I don't remember the C/R

Ahmed,

Could you tell me more about you changing 5th gear?

What did you do - I would guess you made it taller ratio to lower rpm to give you a better top speed?
Thats right the diff. was 1000 RPM which means you got more speed but the RPM will be the same.
