I drove the trubo truck this week - WOW!

It didn't feel like a muscle truck to me (although it certainly sounded like one) where I had to focus on the overwhelming power of the turbo. Rather, it felt like about 2k pounds suddenly dropped off the truck. The acceleration was predictable and wonderful.

BTW Christo, my wife wants to come to your shop to drive it for herself.

So who has installed a turbo or supercharger?

Regarding the Con Rod and the pistons.
The Con Rod is so thin and will bend and will not hold the extra force and that's because we were running 12 PSI on T72 Greddy Turbo.
...

Thanks for the tip! The Crower Pn/N is B93760B-8, and costs about US$177 per con rod. Saw other con rod tech specs here: http://www.crower.com/pdf/157-172.pdf

I noted these down for future reference.

1FZ rules..........

Hi guys, I was hunting info on turbo 1FZ’s on the net and I found this thread.

These motors are awesome, and mine is currently making over 700hp at the flywheel with standard internals, except for aftermarket head studs.

So far it has taken the car to 10.23@140mph, with a fair bit more to go as I sort it out.

1FZ-FE from 80 series Landcruiser
Long motor is internally stock apart from-
• ARP head studs (from 2JZ)
• Modified combustion chambers to drop compression
• Cams retarded 3 degrees
• Modifed oil pickup + custom shallow sump (10L)

GT42 Turbo, Autronic Engine Management

Crank, rods, ports, valves, cams are all standard.

Intake system
100 series stub manifold, modified for 6 extra injectors and second fuel rail
11L plenum chamber with bell-mouth plate on floor
Standard Landcruiser throttle-body

Here are some pics you might find amusing.

Ooo, yeah, that Toyota Crown came up at www.toyotacressida.net forums. Everyone was drooling over it. Rumor was the thing has soo much torque, it shut down 2 1,000hp dynos. Sexy car.

I'm interested, but I won't be in Golden until after the holidays or maybe around Christmas... The price seems reasonable too, all be it high for a 100, all things considerd with the additions it's reasonable.

Do you have any concerns with the vehicle? longevity going to be an issue? Does the turbo/fuel system perform well offroad? Also what electonics are controlling fuel/boost?

Thanks - Z

Does the SMT6 have a map sensor? Wondering if the tune for 5000 ft would need to be reworked for sea level...

If anyone is interested this truck is now in Seattle and is newly on the market - see the classifieds.
