Who are the recommended Land Cruiser shops in Austin these days? I need the HG done on my 1996 FZJ80. Looking for someone that has plenty of actual Land Cruiser experience and has a good reputation. Thanks.

I'm in the same boat - need HG done. I've been to Bearden before and they're great guys, but I don't know if they're the best place to go for HG work. Anyone had their head machined here in town? Also, while I'm at it, what are easy things to check/work on at the same time?

Brooks Elliott is the best in town for heads, but he doesn't do anything but the head work itself.
Bearden is good and can do a HG. Same goes for Land Cruiser Specialists.

@69 Pigboy I thought I had a coupon for Bearden but I must've thrown it away. I think it expired at the end of last month. He sends them out from time to time. Something like $x off repairs of a certain amount.

Does anyone have a good number for LCS in Austin? I want to get a price on a LRA tank install. I have tried calling them probably 10 times over the years and nobody ever answers the phone and there is no machine to leave a message. The number I have from their website is 512-996-9111 and the number I found here on MUD is 512-420-0012

I've had the best luck getting those guys on the phone at the 512-996-9111 number by calling before 830 or right around 430, otherwise they tend to all be out in the shop.
