Any repairs or work done to any components of the AHC system?

Either under your ownership or previous owners. Assuming you have the vehicles service history or have at least checked it at lexus.com.

Im not sure about this, but if Lexus does not recommend any maintenance to the system, I guess a fluid exchange would require a "yes" answer.

If Lexus says it requires routine maintenance, and thats all thats been done to your system, answer "no".

Also, if you have an 06-07 Cruiser with AHC, please respond.

If you removed the system entirely before having any problems, I guess answer No and then post up that fact.

Someone else can chime in if they know what Lexus recommends.

Just trying to get an idea of how reliable the system is and if my hatred of all electrohydraulicsuspensionlevelingadjustablesuspensionsystems is justified.

Yes. Chased problems around sensors and globes for about a year and still had failures on the trail dropping me to the rails, spending over $3000 before ripping the system out and replacing with OME suspension. Mine is an '01 LX

I have two LX 470 both have all service records complete at one dealer. I have not owned them for very long but the service records indicate some service was done. the 01 model has had the fluid changed and the rear shocks replaced that is all it has had done in 170000 miles. the 99 model indicates the fluid has been changed with no other service in 200000 miles. both ride excellent and function as new.

Replaced fluid after about 150K, no other "service", just attempted diagnostics.
Essentially the same experience chasing issues. My drop happened on the highway though at about 70 mph. That was enough to decide to remove it.

Lexus does recommend fluid changes...every 60K miles per my owner's manual.

No freakin way! I didn't know it was that abrupt of a drop. Good to hear you're still with us!

We've only put about 15k on it ourselves (87k total miles on vehicle). No problemo. DIY flush at 75k. Admittedly a pretty virgin vehicle to be in the data sample.

Ours is a mall cruiser, but if I were to wheel it I would definitely start with keeping the AHC, 33s, a 1" body lift, LC springs/bars, Slee module, and solid maintenance just to see how far it could take me. Pretty impressed with the advantages of the system and wouldn't immediately discard. If Lexus never had it and and aftermarket vendor were to have come out with a retrofit system there would be a number of us here drooling over the option. AHC on comfort setting is a pretty nice ride on rough roads and being able to lower the rig to fit into the garage with stuff on the rack would be a handy little option.

Just routine maintenance on mine. Previous owner didn't change the fluid much or at all in 90k miles. I change it every 30k. Working on cranking the T-Bars now.

No. Not the original owner (mom was, sold it to me after 9 years when she bought a 2014 GX) I have changing the fluid a couple of times because it was running original fluid after 9 years and 102,000 miles. I have not had any 'problems' with it, but once in a while it will come up from low to N and the light will blink until I come to a stop and then it will stay solid. A handful of times I've had it in Hi it wouldn't come down, just N would stay lit and Hi would blink. But other than those few rare instances it functions fine, rides great and the load leveling works awesome. I just kicked over 111,000 this morning and changed the oil and lubed the chassis....she's running like a clock.

06 LC, 135k miles. Have changed AHC fluid twice since 70k miles.

Have lost a front sensor and a rear sensor, replaced both myself.

I don't like it being there for two reasons: 1) it's a complex system when compared to a traditional suspension, not easily repairable and 2) my lift height is limited.

It has worked well off-road for me though, even loaded down. As soon as I can swing it however, I'm going ome

Lol I thought this was a trick question lol. 2006 lx had globes replaced etc. still feel this is the weakest link of the vehicle! There are actually lots of TSB out on the AHC. So that should tell you

I'm familiar with the TSB for the height sensor sealing deficiency and associated redesign but can't think of any other AHC TSBs, please provide the list for our body of knowledge. Thanks.

Mine has 265K on it now. Never changed AHC fluid nor have I had any work or problems with it.

01 LX470 125k miles. No failures per se. I did change the fluid, added 10mm shims to the rear springs. Replaced the rear springs, and dialed up the torsion bars. I replaced the globes for good measure. The truck really rides great. It rides soo much better than a Lincoln Navigator or Ford Expedition. After putting on LTZ tires, it is more quiet on the highway than our 08 Odyssey.

The other part of the equation IMO, is whether the capability is worth the extra complexity and cost.

To this, I vote a solid yes! AHC offers a tremendous ride with solid body control on road. Yet affords extra flexibility and capability off-road. With numerous other perks between all of that, like the ability to lower for easy ingress and loading. Extra height on demand, without incurring gas mileage and handling penalties for riding high all the time.

Anecdotal evidence suggests it's also quite reliable, except for when people are modifying with extra weight and armor, without understanding how to modify AHC accordingly.

Yes on my 2000 - I purchased it in 2006 with about 78K miles. Pump died on the test drive. Dealer replaced to the tune of about $1900 if I remember correctly. I only had that 100 for about a year. I don't recall the service history.

No on my 2004 - Purchased in 2012 with 47k miles. I just had the fluid replaced when I did the 90k maintenance at 60K miles on the vehicle. No other work done that I know of.
