Ive been selling a few landcruiser parts to clear out my shed lately. I had the owner of this 1978 arkana bodied FJ45 come round to collect some seats out of my 75 series troopy
It had a good body for its age and the Arkana bodys are famous for their rust resistance.
It has had the old 2F? replaced with a H diesel and the owner has a 12HT and 5 sp waiting to be rebuilt and fitted in the future.
The rear in these is absolutely cavernous, much bigger than my 75 series troopy, probably by 8 inches in width and 4-5 inches in height.
The fibreglass roof was a Arkana option although most of the ex mine vehicles had the flatter steel roof.
I suspect the low roof over the cab was there because many of these had aftermarket roof top aircon units fitted to cope with the desert heat and larger internal space.
Im pretty sure the seating allowed for an extra passenger over the standard Toyota troopy.
The chrome wheels were off a 60 series.
