Are there any clutch options for the Marks's V8 kit besides Centerforce?

I am putting a small block chevy engine in with the factory 4spd. I am using the Mark's V8 kit. The instructions that came with the kit show a Centerforce clutch kit which is a little pricey compared to a LUK which I have used plenty of and never had a problem. I wanted to know if anyone else using this kit has had any luck with another cluch kit. If the Centerforce is the only one that works, I will get it but I don't want to have to pay big $$$ if it is not absolutely required for proper operation. PS, I did a search for " Marks clutch" and it wasn't much help. Thanks, I couldnt complete my build without this forum and everyones help!

I don't see any reason why Luk wouldn't make a clutch for any vehicle application for which Centerforce sells a clutch. Your choice.

I am running the stock 168 tooth flywheel off of the 94 TBI motor that I am using. The paperwork mentions that the Centerforce clutch is a "short throw" design. I just wanted to make sure that clutch isn't the only one that works and figured if someone else has used this kit, they could give their opinion. Thanks

Just beware. I put a Centerforce clutch, "short throw", purchased thru Advance Adapters for their bellhousing. It came with a "weight system" on the clutch fingers that DID NOT allow for the clutch to fully disengage. 8 hours later and after removing the weight system, all is apparently OK. Beware of the weights, they are not necessary.

By the way, centerforce uses remanufactured LUK pressure plates anyway.

all discussed last week and the week before that:

Here are the instructions: View attachment marks adapter instructions.pdf

The PO of my FJ40 put in a cheaper clutch other than what Mark's specified in the instructions, and the clutch burned out within a year. The instructions were followed after that and there has been no problems for the last several years.

BELMONT148 Just what I needed, a part#

So what is the pedal effort like with this clucth? As long as it isn't too stiff, I am gonna get one ordered asap. I found that clutch kit at Summit for $142

I need to get a Vortec manifold from them anyway so now I can cross the clutch off my list too. Thank you so much!

Haven't got it in the rig yet. But it will be the first thing I test before I get everything installed. I ordered it based on the above referenced thread giving me the pressure plate part number and I found this whole kit.
