Are the 100 owners having consistent success with these keyless entry fobs??

Search on here for "master key". If your remaining key is a master, then you can program others. If it's not, then a good locksmith might be able to clone you another or there are some threads on here stating that the dealer will put in another ECU, if you buy the keys and pay labor for programming.

Your security light next to the clock will go off immediately if your key is a master.

Yeah I have a Master, the security light doesnt continue to blink or stay lit, it goes off after I put the key in.

I'm jealous. Neither of my two working keys are a master.

I was toying around with techstream on my 98 the other day and it had the option to add keys. It looked way easier than the door/key/lock routines. I can't speak to the transponders in the eBay keys, but will say that I've bought a bunch of the shells from eBay and they are even weaker than the factory ones.

I need a pair of keyless entry fobs as the PO of the '99 I bought had lost them both, bless her heart. I searched on here and found 1 guy had success with these from Ebay, but I was wondering if anyone else has as well?? I would much rather spend $60 bucks, get 2 of 'em, and program them myself.

2 New Replacement Car Remote Key Fob For Toyota Land Cruiser 4C Chip Hyq1512v
Those look exactly like the ones I bought, programmed using break pedal and door lock/unlock method. Had them both cut at a local locksmith and put my master key away!! Let me find the Ebay link and see if it matches up!!

I need extra keys myself
I have one that came with the car. Does this eBay seller laser cut also?
I bought one from an Ebay seller - bblocks - that cut the key - I had to supply the key code. The code, if you don't have it, can be obtained from a dealer if one brings in proof of ownership for the vehicle along with the VIN.

This is the exact listing I purchased from two weeks ago. I had them cut today and will program them probably next week sometime (first chance I'll get). The fit and finish of these looks on par with OEM IMO. They don't feel "cheap" or thin plastic. After they were cut today, they cycled my ignition so they will deff work mechanically. I will update if you want after I can get time to get my TechStream fired up and program them.

I've had zero luck just finding a locksmith that can replicate the cut on a new blank. I've gone through at least 3 blanks from various suppliers trying to make a second key.....:bang:
I've had zero luck myself but I haven't bought anything yet, just called around

I live outside of Cincinnati, and I've located only one locksmith that has the machine to do it. They charged my $9 per key which I feel like I'm robbing the place at that price compared to what the dealer would charge, which admittedly I didn't check into I'm only assuming. If you can't find a place round your parts, I'll offer to get them cut for you (shipping and cut fees on you of course) but that's quite the undertaking logistically and of course there'd be no guarantee the key would even work mechanically. How would you get it cleaned up or re-cut? I'm just thinking out loud....

@LandCruiserPhil
Not sure why it has been so difficult here to do this, but getting the blank key cut so it will actuate the ignition switch is part of the problem I'm having. Have had both a lock smith and the local Toyota dealer try and they've been unsuccessful. I have one master key (supposedly it is a master key, but am not 100% sure that's the case) and one valet key. I tried for about a year to get a second master key made and gave up after buying at least 3 replacement key shells and having them unsuccessfully cut.

Ah, here we go, nice! I went ahead and got these as well and was hoping for multiple success stories on them, but I will wait and see how yours does. Glad they dont feel cheap. I have the Master, so my plan was to get these in, take them down to the dealer and have them cut them by VIN i guess, and then program them using the old brakes/locks method.

Awesome, let me know if indeed these are the ones you bought, sounds like you have a success story!

For you all that have bought new keys, do the new keys improve the range of the remote? I have 2 keys from PO. One key - the remote is absolutely useless. I have to be next to the drive side door to work. The other key isnt as bad, but the range is still bad, only a few feet from the vehicle before I can unlock the door. So I am thinking that the remote itself may have something to do with the range, and maybe new remote may work better?

For those of you in socal that can't find a spot to cut keys, Sanders in Claremont cut mine in one shot and it was $1.50.

FYI, 1998 Landcruisers cant have new keys reprogrammed. I learned this the hard way. They screwed up when they made the ECU in 98 and if they erase it to reprogram new keys, its done, and then you need a new ECU.
