Both makes a quality dual air compressor mount. The Slee mounts have me a little worried placing that heavy dual compressor so close to the brake assembly/lines on vehicle that sees a lot of vibration off-road. Sdhq mounts to the passenger side. Which one did you choose?

Slee was way ahead getting to market so I think most have the Slee. It works fine, but there are some reports of some wires rubbing and potentially getting damaged. I think the wires are connect to a Secondary Air Injection system or something. I just wrapped extra tape on them and the mount edge where they are close. No issues for me on that. I've heard of no issues with the braking system proximity though at all. Slee also offers a mount on the passenger side, but its not specifically made for the compressor and I don't know if it would work with the compressor. You'll have to ask.

I haven't heard much about the SDHQ mount, but I'm sure its fine. Having engaged with both companies, I prefer Slee as they have always been consultative, focused on my needs and never tried to upsell me. They also support the LC community, sponsor events and show up in a meaningful way.

I have the Slee compressor mount and the Slee passenger side accessory mount. I originally installed the compressor on the compressor mount, but had clearance issues between the compressor filters and the fuse box. I believe Slee has made and adjustment to the mount since then and there are no longer clearance issues. I moved my compressor to the passenger side accessory mount. It requires you to do some drilling into the mount and a little test fitting. I don't have any clearance issues at all. I also have my differential breather filters mounted onto the accessory panel, so it's dual use for me.

SDHQ came out with their mount after I had already mounted mine on the Slee mount. If you desire to put the compressor on the passenger side and don't want the requirement of having to do any drilling, then go with the SDHQ mount.

Follow the directions with the Slee mount and you won't have any issues with wires rubbing. The problem was leaving the air injection controllers exactly in place.. if they and their mount are rotated away from the vertical slee mount leg, everything clears without issue.

I will say it was quite fiddly getting the vertical leg and mounting brace in place, and twisting the hose in the fitting to get it to cleanly run back to the manifold without contacting the hood, tricky.. but overall not hard if you collect the info.

Also nice touches like a defined position for the ARB compressor power switch on the bracket itself if you don't run the control switches in the cab.

I haven't messed with the SDHQ part but having a couple years now on my Slee bracket, I'd do it again. Zero issues with it being close to the brake booster, other than things just being tight in that area. Fortunately I rarely have to get in there.

Slee changed the mount to eliminate the contact, according to posts by Christo. I had one of the failures documented here, I ended up rerouting and protecting the wire better. And then used the Hewitt kit to eliminate the whole assembly.

Thank you all for your input. All good points here! I just wanna make sure I/m not over thinking this

Even with the change if you don't rotate the pump controller bracket (out of square, which I'm sure tweaks some OCD people, myself included) you can still get contact.

The powdercoat has mostly flaked off my slee (US driver, left) compressor mount. The coating came off in large flakes. It holds the compressor fine. I also found the arb stock air filters to be located very close to the battery box on install, and the aforementioned interference with the air pump wires/solenoids, which can be worked around with a bit of care.

So, aside from it being yet another thing to eventually take off and prime and paint, it works fine.

You probably weren't the only one with coating issues.. modern slee brackets are stainless.

Mine is the older (flaking) powder coated version, and my newer brackets are the (much nicer) stainless.

Any pictures of the 2 Slee and SDHQ options? Thanks!!!

I feel like SDHQ stuff is way overpriced. They make cool s*** but its $$$

I think SLEE is awesome and there are alot of users out there.

I run the slee. I think some of the edges are a little sharp...running a deburrer on the edge or a file is a good idea.
My dual compressor mount is great but it's tight and on my 2017 the fuse box latches interfere with the compressor a little.
I think it was designed when the fuse box had only one latch on the back...2017 had 2
Some users have just trimmed the fuse box latches

Thanks! It is amazing how tight things become when we start adding things!

Anyone with a picture of the passenger side Slee accesory mount adapted for the twin ARB air compressor have a pic handy?

@DesmoPilot install

If I started over I’d get the SDHQ simply because it’s passenger side. I’d get all of my electrical stuff off the fuse box and put it where Slee compressor currently is.

I have the newer Slee bracket, wires are taped and insulated with some split hose, hasn't been an issue in 2.5 years. Only complaint is that the compressor filters make contact with the fuse box lid if one were to attempt to open it. Not sure what I'll have to do if I should ever need to access it in the field, maybe pop those filters off and hope that it gains the necessary clearance?!

Same here. It’s tight but I can get the fuse box open without removing the ARB filters. It’s just a bit of a pain. There is a little bit of play in the bracket mounts and compressor mounting holes that you can use to slide the tray and compressor as far back toward the fire wall as possible.

I don’t think the SDHQ supports the ARB manifold kit. That’s a recommended/necessary addition when using the dual compressor. It’s clearly stated to be used with lockers and airing up tires.

That would be a huge deterrent for me.
