Next workday is coming up. I am trying to get some rock brought in for our creek crossing to fix it for good. Least i hope for good. Might try and get some rebar or some cable for our logs.

So the conduit thing isn't going to pan out? What happened to the engineer?

When did it get changed from the 19th? ... the website now shows the 26th in the list but the 19th in the calendar (see screen shot).

I had protected the 19th, but cannot make the 26th as we'll be at the beach (Hunting Island, SC)

ONSC Calendar.webp

I changed it on the website after Darin put this thread up. The 19th is easter weekend.

Darin, can you confirm?

Sorry guys. Not on here too often anymore since i can not get on our site thru the phone.

It is the 26th as i changed months ago on the sticky thread as soon as i found out from the USFS.

Somehow I missed the update in the sticky .... I'll try to make a later one

We need to do some work again on our creek crossing i am affraid. Was just up there this last weekend and it was all tore up. Had the inlaws so working on it was a nogo. I am going to start working on seeing if we can just put the wood back across it again on the wire. The part just past the camping spot in the middle of our trail was a soup bowl with clay. It was rough right there and people were tearing back into the woods cause they could not make it up the cutout.

I take it we never got an engineer to sign off on culverts?

No........

Do not even get me started on that.

We need to IDIOT / a****** PROOF it. Whatever that consists of we need to do that. And i think going back to the logs will do that, but i am way open for suggestions.

What would happen if we submitted for that project sponsorship, got some culverts, and built it with culverts ourselves? We could go up there and bang it out in a day, then be done with it. We could rent an excavator and do it before the USFS realized that it was done.

We have to get the size of culvert approved still. That is all. I am guessing 48 inch. We would need to do a lot of digging for that both for it and prior to it and beyond it for it to work correctly.

Hence the excavator.

So what's the plan for this work day? Disassembling and reassembling the stream crossing again?

Terry's email is down. I did the short hand on her notes so here we go...

1. Dickie Bell. Install guard rail at hill climb and add on to existing rail to block off bypass.

2. Slab pile. Block off "short" cuts where slab pile and dutch john come together and 2 other spots...

3. Wolfes den... Darren will be working a crew to recover the creek crossing(hope to have you rip rap there before then....)

Hay bails will be next month or alt work days(2 different crews wanting to help out on a sunday so that may be a ggod task)

Lunch will be a bag lunch provided by the outpost, A head count will need to be run to the outpost after sign in.

As of this time until i talk to Terry tomorrow i am just trying to build up the both sides with material. I am not wasting more of my time playing reindeer games anymore. I am tired of the BS going on.

Unfortunately I thought it was last weekend as well and made sure I had it off. I have to work this weekend so won't be able to attend. Hopefully my schedule syncs again some time soon.

I hope to get the D60 swap done this weekend, so I won't be able to attend. Unfortunately I won't be able to make May's workday either unless it's rescheduled.

I'm sorry Darin :frown:

I had been planning to come. Having forgotten this, my wife made plans for that afternoon meaning I will have my two girls ages 7 and 9. I'm not sure what type of work we are being asked to do, but I suspect it would be physical labor and they wouldn't be able to help (and might be in the way).

Am unable to this weekend ... will do my best to make the May one ...
