Planning to be there, but the wife is on vacation the week before and part of the week after so I'll have to make sure she hasn't got other plans for me.

Anybody from around the Indianapolis area heading out to the badlands for just one day that has an extra seat open? I'd like to try to get out there and meet some of you, but need to get my front axle rebuilt first before i wheel my own, so maybe i can just ride along this time. I live in Cicero, a little north of noblesville, but don't mind driving a little ways early in the morning saturday or sunday to meet up with somebody to ride with.......as long as you don't play the Eagles the whole time ;)

Higgin/John - I think I will take mine and you can ride with me, I'm all still stock though. Country music only. Anyone else leaving from Indy area and want to convoy? Leaving Saturday morning early.

Will there be 2 open seats for the good stuff when I get bored on the easy trails?

Awesome, Thanks! I'm sure it will be a ton of fun, even if we are just on the easy trails! I'm interested to see what a LC can do stock.....I'm sure I'll be plesently surprised.

My events coordinator said that my calender was clear for the day so I WILL be there for Sat. only, too much going on Sun. At the March run Richard said he was planning on being there also.

Guys there is usually plenty of open seats, if Richards grandson doesn't need it I should have an open seat. I'll know more the week before.

Yeah there should be alot of open seats. I think im hauling the no-wheeling-vagina down, so I dont have any open seats.

Hey gents...
I know what youre thinking: "what the hell is the kid doing back?"

Well, I was just thinking, the badlands might be a nice get-away from school work next weekend... and I get on here and wow... there this is!

Anyone mind if I tag along, and ride bitch? I'm still not ready to wheel the 80.

Ha, well... It needs a front end re-build, the trunnion bearings are probably not completely shot but close. I need to get in touch with Carl for the pricing on a front end re-build kit.

Because your internet is broken?

Call Dan at American Toyota if you want Toyota parts. https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/96516-birfield-rebuild-best-price-kits.html

Call Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters if you want a good after market kit. Cruiser Outfitters

You could try the new HD seals from marlin if you are adventurous. HD Inner Axle Seal, FJ80 | Marlin Crawler, Inc.

Or do you mean you need to get in touch with Carl because you need pricing on him to do the front end rebuild?

Ill bet $100 his front end is just fine. But in the long tradition of 80 guys, he has found some anal maintenace excuse to avoid wheeling his s***. Next time it will be "I dont really want to wheel it hard until I replace the head gasket".....

Which is all pretty funny because the 80 is probably the most over built and under modded/stressed vehicle toyota ever made. But by listening to their owners you would think it was a Kia Sorento.

He said that he could get a good deal on some front end rebuild kit, I'll have Mike Lypp's help tp do it.

Ha! The front end definitely needs work, the alignment wont hold, and while driving I've got a lot of play in the steering, everything points to the bearings.

The headgasket had better be fine, it had recall replacement at 65,000. and its only at 98,000 now.

What i'm worried about is the fact that it's unlocked.

As well you should. If you are unlocked you will slide out of control sideways and slam into tree's like a pinball! Then you will roll over.

Hmm... so there is my legitimate excuse for not wheeling it. I'm trying to find another 80 thats locked. Probably wont be able to anything till summer though.

So IS anyone actually wheeling? (emphasis on the "h")

I got my p.s. pump and line on. Doesn't sound like a F*rd anymore...
I am gonna go camp on friday and saturday. Summers campground again?

You will see me out there with the finest, cheapest tent money can buy!
