Actually, it is a little of both... Duck is a brand of Duct tape Duck® Brand - Duct Tape, Packaging Tape, Weatherization, Shelf Liner and DIY products but that duct tape is not used on HVAC ducting. If one preferred they could refer to it in the queen's english and call it gaffer tape, which is a more accurate description of what it is used for today. Real duct tape is very hard to rip, you usually have to cut it with a blade and is waaaay more sticky than your duck brand duct tape. The military uses a version, but it is 100 mph tape and it is a 3M product but I digress...

anyway got the drivers side put back together today. Of course that was after it fell off of the jack stands like everyone feared. So far it does not look like it sets unlevel with only one side done.
 
Of course you do...You can patch/repair your s*** and no one can tell
