The 3rd year of the LC80 introduced the 1FZ and associated changes.

The 3rd year of the LC100 removed the locker and put in ATRAC and LATCH &c.

Are there any changes reasonably expected in the 3rd year of the LC200?

4.6 will replace 4.7 in world market except North America
A new trim level for these world markets as well

For North America
Headlight adjust system standard (as per what my source has told me, not yet confirmed)

I wonder if it will get HID lights. The 08' and 09' should have come with them for a $70k suv with active cornering adjustment. Oh well, still love my LC. I wonder if the 2010 has the new upgraded lights that maybe we can replace ours for the new ones. Maybe 2k but would be worth it to me.

I asked my local dealer, they said they have not heard of anything new.

hopefully change the plastic material they use around the interior. Especially the center console on the back side. You'd think a 70k suv would get leather lined dashboard just like the 80k sister vehicle?

Are you referring to the "soft touch" plastic? That's luxury compared to most vehicles.

The last thing I would want is a leather dash. It's bad enough having leaver seats.

(Whoever invented the idea of putting plastic on a metal seatbelt buckle was a god send!) If you live in 100+ deg. weather where the interior temps can easily cook an egg (literally), you know what I'm talking about.

I like the soft touch plastic.

I got word today that Land Cruiser upgrade will be

1. Rainsensing wipers
2. Toyota Enform (like on star)
3. Headlight adjust (not a 100%)

That is it for now

Any news on the diesel engine option in the US market?

My 2004 LX has rain sensing wipers :) Don't the 200 series have auto light and rain sensing wipers?

auto @ dusk headlights? yes

rain sensing wipers? no

auto-adjusting height headlights? no

Now that we're a couple months closer to 2010, any updates? I'm thinking of adding a 200 to my garage....

Thanks,
John

From the Toyota Media site:
"TORRANCE, Calif. (September 24, 2009) The Toyota Land Cruiser for 2010 offers the new Safety Connect™ telematics system that can dispatch emergency responders in the event of certain severe collisions. The system also provides a number of other vital services, including stolen vehicle tracking.
Globally famous for its ability to traverse the most difficult terrain, the 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser also now offers XM NavTraffic® to better deal with traffic congestion. XM NavTraffic is part of the 2010 Land Cruiser’s newly added satellite radio feature that includes a 90-day trial subscription to XM® Satellite Radio. The audio system is now also Bluetooth® compatible and features an auxiliary audio jack and USB port for connecting portable digital music players. Gray rear hatch privacy glass is newly standard."

Rain sensing wipers are also now standard. Your dealer should have the 2010 brochures now and the Toyota website has the 2010 LC specs now.

I'd like to see the revised Nav system but if it's not a major improvement, you might want to look for a 2009 and save about $10k.

Any news on the diesel engine option in the US market?

Not happening. Toyota had been working on a diesel engine for the Tundra, but they announced that they have canceled the project. The Tundra sells in much, much larger quantities than the Land Cruiser here in the US, and the development cost (crash testing, emissions testing, fuel economy testing) would be the same. So if Toyota figured they couldn't make money selling a diesel in the Tundra and amortizing the development cost over the quantity of Tundra sales, you can be darn sure that Toyota feels they couldn't make money off a diesel Land Cruiser here in the states.

It's too bad. I'd love to see a diesel Land Cruiser (and 4Runner) here in the states. But I just don't think it will happen for at least several years. Maybe when stricter CAFE standards kick in.

Hi.

I live in Central Asian region.
We have a big choice of toyota cars with diesel engines. Europe has even bigger.
The reason our local dealer is not importing too many diesels is a low quality of diesel fuel here. Some new Dodges and Fords wont work here. Our diesel fuel has the higest amount of sulfur in it in the world.

The reason why toyota is not exporting their diesles to US is different. They have powerful 4.5 twin turbo V8 for instance. The reason is that many japanese and european cars can't satisfy ecological norms of California which I hear are the toughest in the world.

and yet CA air is probably the most polluted in the states especially so-cal. Been to Los Angeles? So the concept fails.

the logic of your arguement is very weak, but since this is a forum about landcruisers, i guess it doesn't really matter.

I live in California and its government is total crap. Anyways, back to the New Cruiser. The 2010 is on the toyota website. Another option that makes its debut on the new 2010 is heated mirrors. I thought when I bought my 2008 that it came with it. I starting to feel short changed on a few options. Now the new cruiser has standard privacy glass on all rear windows. I just had mine done two weeks ago and it cost me $425.(solarguard premium HP) Can the the front headlamps be switched out for the LEXUS LX 570 Headlamps? I would like to have xenon lights.

Thanks - my 06 has heated mirrors, and AHC, (I actually like it) and I'm glad to hear the 2010 has heated mirrors (I assumed they had it), wonder if they'll bring AHC in 2011, I see the Lexus has it, but no KDSS.

Oh, lack of Xenon's is crazy.
