Toyota and TRD are discontinuing the supercharger program. Remaining inventory will be sold down, but replacement parts and support are said to be available for 10 years. See attached file.

I've long considered adapting a flashed Tundra ECU to run a supercharger on the Land Cruiser… now might be the time.

I would not be surprised at all if the LX gets a supercharged version again very soon regardless of this news. The last run they made 200 vehicles which got sold out very quickly. I feel it was to test the market for a future bigger release, maybe make it a permanent member of the LX range.

Has anyone here installed a supercharger on their LC? That has got to be an amazing amount of power.

Someone in CA did. Check old threads. Had to be modified quite a bit.

there was a recent post about putting a light bar in the lower grill area and one poster commented about airflow.
in a response, someone else said it was on a supercharged LC in miami. may have to dig that up to find who it was.

The poster who commented on airflow was Overlake. His snotty comments were unfounded. If an ARB bumper doesn't hurt airflow too bad, I can't see how a small lightbar in a stock bumper would be any different. Just my $0.02.

Mscruiser, I've been searching for the thread to find the user that contradicted overlake. I believe they worked at a shop that had installed superchargers and may be willing to share what modifications to the Tundra kit are necessary.

Proline was the shop that THEROK / Overlake ripped on in that thread.

i don't plan to SC the 200 but I did install the TRD SC on a Tacoma some years ago. It was not quite turnkey but it was fun at the time. I thought that the dealership that Beno is associated with did a new 200 for CH chap not too long ago. He had some tweaks to fuss with as I recall and he had no ready access to the US installer. Perhaps the current kits are improved. We had to significantly modify the software to match my truck. The 5.7 is fine just as it is IMHO.

My Tundra has the Supercharger and AWD… the power is awesome. The torque is everywhere silly. Take a gander on youtube at some of the Tundra 1/4 mile runs.

Onur, no need to thank, but you are welcome. Do you have any more info on the whys of the discontinuation?

Most, if not all 200s with the TRD kit have a piggy back ECU trying to run things. I think the Tundra ECU could be utilized in some of the 200s.

Thats right, atleast in our part of the world. Everyone with an S/C is running things from Unichip (inexpensive piggy back) to Motec (Standalone ECU).

I love my supercharger and Unichip. As my sensors aged I had some minor tuning issues but I purchased the tuning software and now all is good.

I'm sure it would interest folks what year for your LC and how long running the SC/Unichip as well as what sort of "issues" and about the software. I have Dinan software on my BMW so I'm only aware of how one does it right up front. I don't understand how you would have been using something for a while only to buy the software later ?

Makes me wonder now, if the reason they even made the supercharged limited edition run of the LX last year is because they knew this was going to happen......
