I don't know, is it bad mojo to share until its in my grubby little hands?

I'll all but say it by recounting the decision process...the ball started rolling fast at the Uwharrie event in Nov seeing the line up of Landcruisers we presented, continued through the month with family discussion regarding the '71 FJ40 departing the stable and what could benefit all upon its replacement, finished off with the ONSC Christmas party unveiling and subsequent conversation that slapped me upside the head like pissed off pimp to his lazy hooker. :grinpimp:

I was lucky enough to have an un-advertised rig, available for sale shared with me which helped avoid some of the pitfalls fellow members have suffered acquiring rigs recently. Somehow, I still had someone from FL making a plan to fly in and drive it away. Fortunately, the seller contacted me and allowed me first rights to it. As much as the deposit has been secured, payment is on the way, pick up is scheduled for Wed, yet I'm still being cautious until it arrives in my driveway and I have the title in my hand/name...

I'm pretty sure I have a good idea of this item...but I'll keep quiet :hhmm:.

I'll be interested in pics once it arrives as I considered this one too, but I'm overloaded with rigs as it stands.

Sounds like a 45 LV to me. Looking forward to seeing whatever it is!

Thinking along the same lines as Ramon.

Right family, just wrong "style".

I'll forgo the jinx and just come out with it...'77 FJ45 LP-B. I haven't had a truck for almost 10 years now and so many times I need one. Seeing Darin's started the real pursuit to finding one although I had succumbed to going with a 55 believing I wouldn't find one I could afford.

Then, Jason showed up with his and it sent me over the edge. We talked about his reasoning and it was the same conversation I was having in my head. I started a focused and serious search. Found one in MT that is fine then Jason sent me his "cast off" find and it worked out very well.

Now, just have to wait for pickup and delivery. Jason was even nice enough to send me his Uship reference and the same guy is doing the pick-up and delivery. Gotta be some sort of record, shipping 2 FJ45's within the same few weeks.

This won't be a restoration the likes of Barry or Darin. More of a trail/daily driver that will be an evolving project. Just excited to get it in my hands and show it off soon...

cast off pffff

if only I had gotten his email 3 hours earlier. That was a last minute audible option if there ever was one :D

Great score on an awesome LWB; and fuel injected too!!! Whats your LPB designation? was wondering if you were gonna go the FJ45 LPG version as i've been staring down the twin 20gal tank option at 1.29 a gallon.

sniffle sniffle.....and mine is open/open

Ya'll got them new fangles ones with all them. Good to see another 45 coming down this way though newer options. Got to go old school like mine.

Good to see another 45 come down this way though.

Now let me be the first to say it.

Pics man. Need pics.

couldn't wait could you?

I guess I couldn't resist letting the cat out of the bag, ooops...

cast off pffff

Gladly take this cast off.

Actually, its not injected, he says it has a "non-USA carb", so that means its a Canada 2F since its out of an '85 FJ60, right? I've still got so much to learn about these things.

LPG may be in the future, first just need to get it. Then, I'll put together a priority list and see where that falls into the list. And, yes, the fact it has a Detroit up front and Aussie ready for the rear was a pleasant surprise.

Bottom line, I owe you Jason, thanks for sharing the find. Major "Cruiser Karma" is coming your way...

Nothing like a new fangled '77, with a 2F out of an '85 FJ60, its almost modern. It is running on some old school 40 steel wheels with 33 X 9.50's on them so kind of going your direction.

All the pics I have are from Jason's forwarded email to me from his contact with the owner. I'll wait until I've got it in my driveway for that portion of the story. Will definitely need some cosmetic enhancements, as Jason mentioned, it is surely the color that only a true UNC fan could love...

So it's not Butch Davis (navy) blue then? J/K Jerry - getting stoked to see this puppy.

Congrats Jerry! Can't wait to see pictures tomorrow! I'm having a lot of cruiser envy lately...

Thanks Brett. Doubt I'll have pics by tomorrow though. Talked with the shipper and he had some travel issues with the weather/wind going through eastern MD. He won't pick up until tomorrow afternoon and may be delivering sometime VERY early Thursday morning.

Thats a wake up call I'll take though...

oh dont you worry. Ole Derrick called at 4:42 am to let me know he was in NC.

Cant wait to see it in the sunny south.
