Thinking about designing/ building a plastic case for the left side of my tailgate to store some things and match the tool kit.

Would any of you guys have interest in one as well and what would you be willing to pay for one?

Injection molding won’t be feasible but 3-d printing at a larger scale might work out.

I'm interested. But while you're in there, do both sides. just 1 doesn't make much sense to me. I'd like a whole replacement. Everything carpet GONE. Something like the UHMW plastic ones you see on the 80 series. This right here is exactly what we need. You couldn't take my money fast enough for one.

@Cruisin911, check here and contact Trail Tailor for a 200 tailgate lid:

Hi. Are you talking about the left-side space?

Was it always intended to be empty or am I missing some tools/pieces?

I'd be interested. Anything sub $100 USD would be ok with me. Anybody look into getting a tool kit and hollowing it out?

Update: I looked up the tool kit box. 09120-60210 for $34 USD online. Tomorrow I'll look at existing kit and see it can be hollowed out.

Apologies for going in a different direction in your thread.

I am interested but as well was thinking about the same approach. put some foam inside to hold loose things from shifting

I dig the trail tailor design, but the cost stops me. It costs a lot for people to make these high quality products, so I get it. I can't justify the expense when the stock storage works well enough for everyday use.

I checked today. Left side is an inch or two wider than the right (tool) side. The stock tool box leaves a gap when put in the left compartment. Not big enough to be useful and looks sloppy. SO, I'm definitely in for a custom box for the left.

Interested here too.

I’m interested too, I currently keep a headlamp, gloves and ratchet straps in mine FWIW. Sub 100 would be great! Thanks!

Regards,
Chris

Yes!! I would buy one! I want one that fits my glock 43x and a clip! How cool would that be?? Happy to share my email if you want to take this offline
