Over on the 200 forum they have been playing with an Amazon sourced tool called launch. Is anyone using this for a 100? My main interest today is to read the oil pressure so I can figure out if my gauge is trying to leave the chat. Also, will use it on my 22 GX and 23 4r, but would also love to bleed brakes, AHC on the 06, trans temp on the above for changes etc.

Pretty sure the 100 Oil pressure is an "idiot" gauge, not connected to ECM, I was wrong once though.. so you might want to double check..

The Launch can’t see it. Not sure if techstream can in a 05/2002. I’m off to harbor freight to get a mechanical gauge.

I don't think it is.
Not as in depth as my 91 Miata one with numbers but not a dummy gauge. It moves.
At least on the 98-00s.
Not sure about later ones, it may be like the Miata when the NA went from my 1.6L to the 1.8L.
When they changed motor in 94 they went from the actual sender to a dummy one (on/off).

It moves, of course it moves, it’s a gauge. But its sensor doesn’t send info to ECU, and therefore not readable using a code reader like the one the OP was asking about, a coolant temp sensor for example will provide info to ECu and it’s readings will affect other parameters, not only a gauge.
Hope it’s clearer.
