Anyone using a TJM front bumper?

I have the TJM T3C on my '99...my only complaint is the lack of recovery points built into the bumper.

I believe if you are looking for 'mild' offroad, it's the ticket. I have one on my 94 without winch, and probably won't install one. I will say that a welder can do some quick reinforcement of the unit if you need more serious duty out of it. My understanding is that the 12k winch will tend to bend the bumper in extreme duty, but you should be fine with the 9k winch.

heres mine without the winch, Ill try and get a picture with the winch installed.

Very nice!

Is the winch all inside the bumper?
Which winch did you use?

Don't want to hijack but has anyone used a hi-lift jack with the TJM T17?

?????
Had what bumper and what is a OEM winch?

TJM front bumper! OEM ......... go and check Technical Acronyms https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=84888;p

I know what the acronyms are but your sentence is confusing? You mentioned a OEM winch? Does Toyota make a OEM winch? You said you had a front bumper but did not state what kind.
Where you trying to say you had a front TJM bumper but it was not strong enough for a winch? What was the size of your OEM winch? The TJM is rated for up to 9000lbs. Was yours bigger?

Not trying to be a A hole here but a few more sylables in your response would go a long way:cheers:

Excellent question?
Also has anyone put recovery hooks etc on a TJM bumper?

Thanks

Here's mine at Steamboat Ice Track this past Feb... I had mounted tow hooks on the frame of the TJM on my 4runner, as a bolt on. IIRC, the 80 also has holes for mounting them, but my hook hole centers were off, so I skipped it on the 80. The stock hoops do fit on the frame however.

jditom-

if you want my two cents (and you do)-

go for slee's single hoop. it has the same basic design, with a little better approach angles. but mainly, the front hoop will add some protection on the road or trail.
oh yeah, it also looks killer!!!!!!

p.s. slee's can handle any winch (8000-12000) and already has recovery points!!
you will kick yourself if you choose TJM T17 over slee single hoop ...................... ....guaranteed!!!!!!

i have the tjm and i love it. it fits the bill for me perfect. i dont like the look of arb because arb makes all cars look the same imho, and i bought a toyota and want to show it off. and the bumper looks great (again imo) i have not bent it, i have a 8k winch on it. but i do not do much, if any, hardcore wheeling

Does anyone know if a Warn HS9500 winch w/the integrated solenoid will fit in this TJM bumper? The integrated solenoid is attached to the winch and makes it much taller. Thx.
