Wish there was but we always have the big playground called the forest, if your up to it maybe we can do that trail again and maybe find some fun places to wheel.. Alpha pit closed, guess only know if we try to find out ourselves. Only GEEP owners could be retarded enough to ruin something like this. I look forward to when someone can ride there again as Al stated.
Anyhow, i am willing to take a gander and attempt the entrance or at least one of them. Chad Jones has never shyed away from being turned down. But yall's experience may trigger your instinct otherwise. Either way, i guess i'll follow suit.
Riding in the forest isn't the worst thing that ever happened. If any of you are willing to do so, I'm game for Friday. I reserved the day for wheeling and that's what i intend to do. Seemed like FLFJ80 was interested, so maybe that makes two of us.

Anyone who has ideas, let me know. I'll be packing up ready to wheel, on standby.

January 13-16 at the Lake Oklawaha campground. I'll be there with another Toyota club, I've gone the last 3 or 4 years now. I always see some cruiserheads from the FLCA.

Facts People

I mean, c'mon...where are these facts truly coming from? People with Geeps??? Does anyone actually have any documented information or ever read anything in a publication, or is everyone's great wealth of knowledge based on hearsay?
Now this is not disregarding AL...i am well aware of knowledge acquired through experience...and that includes any of the rest of ya's who've wheeled there before. But does anyone know this "family" that owns the pits? Who was really the first person to wheel/trespass on this land? What's really the secret motive to the closing???
Opinions are like assholes...everyone's got one. And in no way am i stating mine's worth more than someone else's.
Look at the James Van Fleet Trail...named after a General for a reason. Aint no nature walk, it's a cleverly disguised military route via local tax dollars. whether hurricane/nuclear warfare/cuban invasion, whatever.
All i'm really saying is who really knows whats going on. The old addage - "don't believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see."

Me and Brian are still wheeling friday, whether ocala, a "secret pit" entrance, or beside some cows at the farm. Hoping chuck and mike and anyone else can make it! Call either of us.

As far as the true reason what happened. No one knows that I know. But Alpha Pit has been wheeled for years. From what I understand a Jeep club tryed to take over the land and were bugging the owners so they shut it down. Everyime I have been back there I have ran into other people fishing, biking, and offroading, Atving....and so on. Plenty of people knew about it.

I know some trails in the south and north end of the forest.

I don't mind mud too much, but water crossings make me nervous (I've sucked in water before, not fun). In ONF you have to deal with both, but I do enjoy the trails.

Myself and a couple of others will be at the campground Friday morning to secure a spot for my club. We're gonna head out for a prerun afterwards. After the meeting Saturday morning, we're gonna ride the south end of the forest.

Should be a good time.

Friday Plans!!!

I'm meeting Brian (FLFJ80) in Clermont at his house...going to leave the truck and trailer there. We're planning on the forest, but still going to try and storm the barrier of alpha. Signs, guns, people w/ badges haven't deterred us before.
I'm guess Chuck D might be down for some afternoon/evening wheeling??? We plan on all day...maybe night camp. I just got home from work (2am), 2 hours early!!! Wanted to post one up if any are still interested...leaving in the morning from the house at 8am.
