yeah, i own 300 acres near alpha pits.. it would be nice to know who is actually going and stuff like that because the day is coming soon... maybe organize this a little better with actual directions and meeting times... and some sort of RSVP thing going... if anyoneis interested in maybe doing something at my farm let me know. my cell is 407-451-8022 or email me at fdiaz6@msn.com
 
I finally got my junk back together and running!! There is some electrical loose ends to clean up, but I hope to finally make it in my own rig. So is it the 23rd or the 27th? Both perhaps? Now I have it back together I can find the weak links.

Hey guys.. Its very easy to get from the forest or anywhere for that matter, my farm is right off of US441/301.. Here are some maps to give you and idea of its location. Camping would be fun.. Let me know if you guys would be up for that, so I can have some firewood ready for a nice bonfire. Yeah your definetely right, no camp fees, so more money for some booze....!!! As for the dates the sooner the better, i want to go wheeling.. I am up for both dates......

Floridafj80, the idea about Alpha Pit was not telling people where its at unless they actually got off there ass to wheel and show up at the pilot station where we all show them where its at. Its hard enough getting people to wheel. Most of the time you have to talk them into it.....and Alpha was the pitch.

i still cant make it the 23rd but you guys are welcome to go...might be making it on the 27th tho. If you guys do still try to shoot for the 23rd I might be able to show up for some night wheeling that night and leave the next morning...

as long as another dude goes to pull me out of whatever situation I get Velveeta stuck into..

sorry didnt mean to spoil it. but anyways you and I both know, that the pic on the map is way to general for anyone that hasnt been there to know how to get to the pits. people would still have to meet at the pilot with everyone else to know exactly how to get there. so i dont think i have spoiled much, if anything at all..i apologize anyways if i wasnt supposed to say anything about it...

Did nullifier hit a tree too??? Or were you talking bout my fj62 getting a facelift from some pine in richloam? anyhow, i don't think that item would have helped me, considering i knew the tree was growing in that same spot the whole time. lol

Sounds like there will be two opportunities for people to wheel alpha, the 23rd and 27th obviously.
For us 23rd folk, lets decide to meet at either the pilot station or the farm. FLFJ80s farm is more practical for me (closer for one thing!) bcuz i will be stashing my dodge and trailer there while we wheel. Let's meet no later than 10AM...i would like to do sooner if yall are game, but can't promise i'll be conscious considering i'll get home from work Friday morn @ 4am! lol...don't matter though.
FL FJ80, i will call the cell # you posted to "RSVP" so that at least me and you know we're both going. All others, do the same. I'm assuming you know the entrace to Alpha Pit also...cuz i think that's all we need for the 23rd date, just someone who knows an entrance spot! lol...then we're set! Follow suit people...Mike from Otown, call one of us! Brian from Orlando...fix your arm do the same.

Damn, the farm sounds like a great place to meet up - hopefully, your offer stands for future runs. I unfortunately am not going to be able to make either run - driving back from NC the 23rd and due back to work on the 27th - Plus I am tearing springs off my 40 on the 24th so I can swap for Eric's OEM springs and finally start my SO. I've had all the parts, cut and turned axle, shackle reversal, dodge perches, kickass high steer arms with 1 ton GM tie rod ends, and hopefully some new axles for Christmas... Needless to say - I'm in the garage until late Jan. early Feb.

Hope everyone has a good time and posts some pictures for public viewing.
 
Well i just read 6 pages of jeep forum jumble. Some jeep club was nagging the owners of the place and then had jeeptoberfest out there and pissed them off. 20 years of access just got shut down. I hope in a few months it cools off and we can wheel there agian. I have heard it has been shut down before so with any luck in a few months it will re-open.....this was another reason to keep this secret... aprently there where close to a few hundered trucks there that weekend....

what a shame.
 
Who knows for sure, could be made up by all the "hardcore" buggy guys to try and deter everyone from the pit, but I doubt it.

I bet after a few months people will be back in there.

That is a bummer about the alpha pits, i hope they arent shut down for good.

Oh and Al, I was out with a bunch of jeeps at the Shore's pits and got harassed by the cops too. So stupid, I've been there hundreds of times, and seen thousands of ATVs, dirtbikes, and 4x4s there and Swan corp has never cared.

The one cop left and one of my friends got stuck in the sand right by the road, we were pulling him out when another cop drove by. Waved at us, we waved back, that was it. Random enforcement pisses me off.
 
yeah we are going out to the shores monday or tuesday for a few hours. Since more cruiser family is in for the holidays and they want to wheel. We were out last weekend and cut a few new trails. It was fun, but we were all planning on making the the pit. Owell. I know for sure I will going back in a little over a month..
 
this stinks. How about we dig a big pit at Frank's farm and call it F-Pit :D
Frank, I was/am on the edge about friday and won't likely make any day time riding. Are there any features on your land worthy of cruising on... hills, bog, slow moving animals, mountains of empty beer cans...? Do you have access to a bulldozer ;)
Bruiser, you're right, I was confused about your tree incident and nullifier. My confusion runs deep and wide...

I made a new route up the big hill in the back, so far no jeeps have been able to make it, just my sammy. It is steep as hell, but I bet the velveeta wag can make it. I'm starting the 1.6L swap today so my sammy will probably be down for a week or so.
