Ocala

All I know is we were on the west side...rode around Lake Dora, so whatever area that is exactly. I would love to get all the pics up...i tried the imageshack, but won't work at all for me. There are some more great photos, so sit tight yall and i'll find a way to get em up w/o pulling the other ones off the site.

Oh yeah, and to anyone who has explained to me how boring the ONF is before, just check the pics...and come watch our video we recorded when we were out there! Now, it's no tellico, but c'mon! if you got a real 4X4, you'll make some fun.

Where were yall wheeling???

Dihnekis...where is this area you and al are writing about? i understand somewhere near st. augustine? i've concluded off the coast no doubt. looks cool...others allowed, or locals only???
While surfing in Flager one time, we came across a trail right off the coastal road there...some sand hills, ups and downs...wild cuz it came outta no where! not that south of flagler is the most populated, but any road that leads to daytona usually aint got no trails. Wasn't huge, but we probably drove a mile or so on some dirt opposed to the pavement.
Just wondering where yall's cool spot is.
thanks

chad, try www.picturetrail.com just upload the pics.. and when you do that give me your web address on picturetrail and i will post the pics here.. thats what i use....

It is south of the city of st augustine, in a housing development called the st Augustine shores. Called the Shores Sand Pits here locally, mostly just the ATVs and dirtbikes, but there are a ton of trails out there. Mud, hills, logs and roots, more mud, and miles and miles of trails. I've been down some that I've never been able to find again, one that was really cool and ended in a small stream. Nothing bigger than my zuk could fit down it, but I would love to find it again and take some pictures, it is a very pretty spot. Also some cool parts are a marsh that I like to make trails across, its in the pics, and a trail on the bank of the intercoastal with THICK mud. Not to mention if you get stuck and don't get out in time, high tide will screw you. There is one trail out to an island that I want to try, but haven't been able to yet.

It isn't the best place to wheel, but seeing as I live in the Shores housing development and it is maybe a 2 minute drive (30mph ), I love it. You could come by if you want, although I don't know if it is worth a long drive... talk to Al about it, hes been out there a lot.

Al, what are you up to on Monday? Interested in a Shores run sometime during the day with some jeeps?

Any of you other guys are invited too, but its probably quite a drive for most of you.

I can be there by 5 at the earliest...

Al, me and a few jeeps will be out there a little before 5, give me a call when you are heading out there. 540 3992

I'll just head out around 5...I get off work then so I will just head right there. eewww jeeps...and there wussyness, bring a sammy with..at least they have birfs in them.:flipoff2:

Of course I'm bringing my sammy. It is a shame that jeeps are the only 4x4s that are in abundance around here, but oh well, better than the big fullsize trucks. So far it is a stock XJ and maybe that slightly lifted ZJ on the mudders.

Haha and my birfs can't really be compared to your birfs, I know they are both Aisin made but mine are like 1/4 the size or something probably. Oh well, 65hp doesn't put much strain on them.

Wow thats the first time i'v seen a jeep picture on IH8mud and they aren't completely bashing it...

Monday should be kinda fun :D :bounce:

Chad and others, thanks for the cool pics. Al, you need the sticker my friend has on his motorcycle... "yes its fast, no you can't ride it". lol. Too bad about your windshield. ;p

Are you coming out too? Oh well you probably won't read this until afterwards, its already 4. I'm still debating whether or not I should leave the top and doors on... I hate cleaning the interior, but I love wheeling in the fresh air... Oh well.

Here we go now

Frank...thanks for the great link, that picture trail worked great for me somehow...I'm posting the richloam pics from New Years Day on here through that.
As for the rest of the Ocala Pics, Pete is putting them up on the FLCA site...just click on Meetings and it should be the first link...don't think he has them up just yet though.

Got 10 good ones of the 3 of us, so should look nice.

sweet i will look for the there... sweet pics on richloam!!!! i want to go next time...

Hey dude were those picture you were taking digital? If so you wanna email me or Al them... or post them?;) thanks!

Still waiting on my friend to get them to me, I had school today and he was just being lazy, but I'll post em up as soon as I get em.

I had a lot of fun, and was very impressed with both land cruisers, especially the 80. I didn't expect it to be so capable :). I knew the velveeta wag was going to kick ass.

I also found out I need a rear locker(well I knew I needed on but didn't know how bad), and learned a little bit more about how my front axle works. Thanks for the good time, and showing me a few more cool paths.

Three of my jeep friends all ducked out a few hours before, but it is ok, because none of their rigs could have really handled any of those steep hills.

It was a good time... too bad its so trashed back there. I ened up getting 30ft of fishing line wrapped up into my pinion and now its leaking 90wt...time to rip into the rear end and replace the pinion seal and stake nut.

Damn, thats a shame. I hate all the dumping that goes on back there... the cops should worry about that, not us.

I'm pretty sure it is all getting bulldozed soon anyway though, what with all the survey stakes and new trails made by tractors.
