Anyone recommend a fluid transfer pump that will fit PS reservoir?

Going to do an exchange on the PS fluid soon and would like to extract the existing fluid in there. The opening to the reservoir doesn’t appear any bigger than 3/8”.

Can anyone recommend a fluid transfer pump that will fit the small opening? Plan on doing a few evacuation and refills over a couple hundred miles with M1 synthetic ATF.

Turkey baster?

@sdnative posted this in a radiator thread: "As an added bonus, the 5/16" ID tubing had the perfect OD to use on the power steering reservoir return line when I did the PS fluid exchange."

Don’t want to disconnect any hoses.

Mityvac MVA6851
I have one of these and like it a lot.

By the way, the turkey baster reply wasn't a joke. I have several (segregated by what kind of fluid I use them on, each marked with a sharpie). They are about the fastest way to empty a reservoir with no fuss. I've had a mity-vac for almost 30 years, and seldom use it for anything anymore.

Check the link if you haven’t seen this newer model. It is ultra simple, cheap, quick to clean, and accurately measures volume. Also you can use it to supply fluid.. these days I use it to fill diffs and the transfer case.

I used to have a couple turkey basters eternally hanging up to let the fluid drain out. Those went into the trash when I got this.

I stand corrected, this looks like a great way to go.

I invert my basters into empty one gallon water/milk jugs for storage.

What I own and was thinking of is this: Mityvac Silverline Elite Automotive Kit-MV8500 - The Home Depot

I have several of those tools but I like to keep it simple. Turkey baster is what I used to evacuate the reservoir through the fill cap. Couple rounds, the second round a few hundred miles after the first is good enough for me. 1 qt of Mobil 1 ATF was plenty to do the job and the fluid looks much better for it.

I have an old Pela that has been great.. before the thing linked above it is what I used for the PS res.

Also I found out the hose won’t fit down inside toyota dip stick tubes.. in fact it can get stuck. Had to pull the whole tube on my 1KZ.
