I am having my green 2010 LC200 completely restored - new paint job, all new black trim pieces, new OEM grill, and new headlights. I've thought about painting the calipers either red or yellow, just to give a cool contrast. Would that be cheesy? Anyone else done it that has pics?

very very cheesy

BUT - who cares. It is your truck. Do what makes you happy 😃

You’re a few days early. April Fools day isn’t until the 1st.

I think you'll find most users here are offroad enthusiasts and mud/gravel/sand doesn't really lend itself toward the shiny parts.

You could get high temp powder coat applied, but you'd need a complete disassembly and someone who would be meticulous with prep. Or supply new calipers to be coated. Rattle can jobs probably won't have the best of results.

Another option would be to go to a big brake kit which comes with colored calipers. This would offer increased performance along with the aesthetics.

I wish I knew about this before I put on my DBA rotors. The shop that did that job also paints calipers. To have them do it it's expensive IIRC.

I've painted calipers black on my 100 series (for corrosion resistance). Just make sure you use high temperature paint. Powder is a good option too.

I've considered it a few times, usually black or red are the colors I'm between. I can't talk myself into the prep and time to spend an afternoon doing it though. With warmer weather and whatnot it may happen this spring.

That is outrageous! The 60 to 0 time must be insane!

I did not. I decided to keep the vehicle as near original as possible. We did order aftermarket headlights because the OEMs were so outrageous. I'll see if I can stomach them.
Should have caught them during last 25% off sale. They almost get to reasonable ish then and 08-11 LC headlights are by far the cheapest among all the 200s.

I wanted to pay a small tribute to heritage bronze without buying the hard to source wheels. So did this a couple years ago and it’s been holding up incredibly well, and I was not super careful with prep etc, just hacked in one afternoon for some garage dopamine

I did the calipers on my Miata back in 2020, they still look great. I used a product called G2, not cheap, it's a 2-part epoxy paint. Comes in a kit, lots of color choices.

Red looks good on a silver car. I would do mine in black if I was doing the Cruiser.

I see POR-15 is now also selling a kit.
