Anyone know this error light?

Had my first error light ever on my 2015 LC. Repeatedly flashed very rapidly. When i restarted the car it went away and has not returned in 2 weeks so must be nothing. Curious though as to what it may have meant. I have looked at all the warning and information lights and this one with a rapid flashing light is not noted in the owners manual. Does anyone have any insight.

Never mind - looks like I bumped the switch when I got in. I guess my 200 is still at 100% perfect after 10 years of hard use.

But, yes. That's your center diff. Now, if you use that function so little that the light and switch are unfamiliar territory, it would be a good idea to get into the habit of heading to a dirt lot every couple of months to exercise the off-road bits: diff lock and 4Lo. This way, when you unexpectedly need either, they will work.

That is likely the actuator acting up in the transfer case. I get that warning light here and there seemingly out of the blue, but I suspect it's correlated to ambient temperature swings. On my end, if I drive for 5-10 mins, shut the truck off and restart it, the light goes away.

I believe this is a fairly common issue on 200's, and if I'm not mistaken, @TeCKis300 has a thread somewhere about diagnosing/fixing it.

I use low range and the CDL every couple of weeks at a minimum and have since I bought it new in 2014. Just have never had a rapidly flashing light in response. My guess now is that I bumped the switch and, not being in neutral, it freaked out and gave me the flashing light.

Hmm. The CDL is on-the-fly, so no switching to neutral required. That's only for 4Lo. The fast flash symptom is likely due to something like what @eatSleepWoof mentioned. Could be spurious and random, could be indicative of an issue with the actuator set. If this truck lives in AZ, I'd ignore it for now. If this truck is in either WA or AK, I'd go read the threads and take a peek at the vent hose coming off the top of the actuator housing. If not connected and truck in non-AZ weather, it might be worth digging into diagnostics (pull codes).

What @eatSleepWoof said. If it only happens occasionally on a cold start and goes away if you restart the truck after driving 5-10 min I wouldn’t worry about it.

There is a thread on fixing it but I wouldn’t bother with that until it’s a regular occurrence, you might only come across it once or twice a year, if that.
