Anyone have or recognize this dash caddy?im pretty sure it's aftermarket. It spans the length of the dash, is about 6" wide, 1.5" tall, and takes the place where an upper dash pad would reside. Previous owner told me that it's common to see these in the Australian market.

Thanks,

Andy

Think I have seen that before, maybe Aus, Department of the Interior(name of company ) , think that's the name(or close), they make overhead consoles and other interior bits.....seems like something they would make

Pic is a RHD 40...so out of Aus

Keep going guys we are getting closer, need to see some closeup's
Of the construction and maybe someone can make um over here.

Outback Products. ....but don't think they make em anymore.

One review on mud said they were crap

Looks nice Andy.

Since your 1978 FJ40 came from Oz, it would be nice for some Australian input..

I suspect MAF was onselling an Australian product, (probably from Outback Products as Landpimp suggests).

Maybe @Bambi Girl or @Ken White may have seen these before and can confirm?

I have one in my su troopie and I also made a similar one but sold them all. I was thinking about making another one this time in brushed aluminum. I love my dash tray it serves us well on long trips

Stainless 40-45
I see some of us were saying they liked the tray and that you said you could make them maybe work up an idea and share it with us.

My idea is this if you want me to make them it would be in brushed aluminum and will cost about $150. I have an original in my troopie that I will use as a template

I would be interested as well . Alu or not. But LHD please...?

I dont like original fj40 upper pad. Prefer just thin/small flat tray.

Can you make such?

Keep us posted stainless

I have one in my 73, but can't remember where I bought it. Have had many who asked the same thing.

I had one on my '70 but switched to the dash box. Still have it somewhere. They are kinda neat but the carpet covering on mine was NASTY.
