Anyone in southern Idaho that can check out an LX for me?

I've got some in-laws in that area but they are Ford people.

Where at in South ID? I'm traveling on the 84 from Northern UT to OR this weekend. If it's not too far off the 84 I can have a look.

It is at Ozzys Car Company and is 3.5 miles off of 84.

4195 W. Chinden Blvd.Garden City, ID 83714

If you wouldn't mind stopping in and taking a look at it for me, I would buy your meal or give you some cash or whatever we can work out.

It is a black LX450.

Thanks!
Ryan Scott

I saw a black LX today in Des Moines. Super clean. I thought of you. I left a note on the owner's windshield with my number saying I was interested. I was in a hurry so I couldn't wait any longer. I figured as much as I was looking at it and peeking inside, the owner (or cops) would've come out. It has 126k on the clock. Leather looked good. Stock stereo. And it had the magic button. I would assume it is a 1-2 owner garage queen rig. All stock. I looked underneath it and it was super clean. No surface corrosion on the frame.

Black LX's aren't my thing so if they call I'll shoot you a PM. What do you suppose a ballpark is on a rig like that?

Probably $8-10k? Really depends on the local market and how strong it is. There was one here on mud, a CA truck one owner, black very nice, it was $9,500. And I know I am totally in the minority here, but I would prefer a non locked truck. ha.

I missed it by not checking classifieds daily. lol.

Is this because you prefer air lockers or because there is less chance it's been used offroad?

I'm in the minority with you. I think lockers are the most overhyped feature that is sought. I haven't gotten in to a situation where I've ever needed them is the 23 years I've had my 80.

really? I find myself needing my lockers almost every time I hit the tracks. I do however prefer ARB air lockers over OEM lockers.

For me it is because this isn't going to be a street truck and I am going to try and go with auburn limited slips front and rear, so paying the premium for a 3x truck is not necessary.

If you are building an offroad truck the lockers are a good feature. But I would look at overall vehicle condition 1st, lockers 2nd.

I could see a rear locker being beneficial. I've never needed them.

I'll let you know if they call. The truck doesn't look like it's ever been off road so they may not know what the magic button does.

Great thanks man I appreciate it. Maybe they have no idea what they have and will let it go at KBB. lol. I would give you a finders fee and maybe even give you the locking 3rds if you wanted them. lol.

No worries. I offer to buy every 80 I see. Unfortunately I don't see a ton of them. But I'm 2 for 4 in buying them in the past 3 months.

I picked up a 94 that was a rust free rig from Alabama for $1400 and the rust free twin to my 92 for $900 for my son a week later. Both needed maintenance and TLC but we're solid clean trucks. The owners didn't know what they had bought and how expensive the work would be. The 94 had an estimate for $6000 worth of work. I ended up selling to a buddy to replace his Heep Cherokee. He put a few hundred bucks in parts in it and we did the knuckles, wires, plugs, cap, etc. He drove it 1000 miles to Texas the next week and then back. The 92 is for my son and we are working on that together. He just turned 14 so we have a little time.

I'll send you a PM if I hear from them.

No finders fee necessary. If you are t going to use the rear third Id take it but I've lived 23 years without it so not a big deal.

No LX on the lot but they had this tucked away in the back.
