I'm going to be there for a couple of weeks to do some mountain biking. I originally was just going there to ride White Rim and take the Silverado, but now I've got a bunch of extra time and am thinking about driving the 80 out for it. I have to work out some details to be able to do this still, but thought I'd test the waters to see if anyone was planning on being there around that time. I know the weather is pretty hit or miss, but no crowds!

you're a month to early :flipoff2: everyone will be their about 3 1/2 weeks later

We will be arriving 3/24, leaving after Easter, staying in Motel 6. Look at our website for vehicle info (www.desertrider.net bottom of first page).

Actually, it will be somewhat crowded: Easter Jeep Safari, which is why we are going there, and we will be running with some ColoradoK5 members of the Sheetmetal gang. No specific plans or trails worked out yet.

Feel free to PM for details. Claudia

Bummer, didn't realize the Easter Jeep Safari Started that early, thought it was a week later. Thanks for the info there. :cheers:

Don't know if you have ever been to Moab to bike but if it is too busy there head east to Fruita for miles of top notch trails. Are you a down hiller or a XC rider?

I'll be in Fruita April 5 thru 8. Too bad out schedules don't jive. Not much riding out of Grand Junction unless you go up on the mesa, but then there's snow to contend with.
Do you know about Over the Edge Cycles in Fruita? They are the gurus on all of the area trails.
Have fun.

Yes, and a good one too. Nice place to visit to get the local 411.
Have done the White Rim 3 times and once all in one day with a sag. Great ride. If you didn't pull the White Crack as a camp spot be sure to visit it. Awsome veiw.
Are you going from Schafers to Fort Bottom or the opposite?
devo

Yeah, starting at Schaffers. I didn't get the name of the camp sites we pulled, my riding partner made the arrangements. We ride around 48 miles the first day, then 30 something the next, and finish up the 3rd day. We were originally wanting to do it in 2 days but the camp site setup didn't really favor it too much, and also we wanted to do some side excursions along the way. We're planning on towing a bob to carry the camping gear and supplies. I've driven this route along time back, but this is my first time riding it. You are an animal to ride that in one day! I hear that is quite an accomplishment.

I need to spend more time on my trainer right now though. My riding partner Alison is an animal on a bike, and I don't wanna get spanked too bad. :D I might just check out Fruita though to get some variety if Moab seems too busy.

For now Fruita is better.
Moab = worn out
If you like XC rides ( epic ), ride the Golden Spike from Poisen Spider to Gemini Bridges
I hope you have fun. If you return every year let me know. I know several multi day expedition type loops that take you south of Moab and retun. Cruiser sag is necessary, fun is built in.
