I am looking at a JD2 model 3 tube bender, 1 3/4" x 5.5 die, and stand from JD2. It adds up to about $750 without shipping.

Any Yankee toys member in Ct. interested in going 1/2's

Or anyone have one they can rent me in a little while for a month or so?

I am going to be taking off my 80's fender flares and building some out of tube. Along with full rear quater protection incoperated.

Let me know. Scott

I would go half but I'm in Mass.

What are you looking to build Wrench? Do you think this is the best model in its class? Seems to have the best reviews for a life long tool and not a throw away.

The issue with that is keeping tabs on who has it and scheduling of who gets it when and for how long.

It's not a horrible idea, but an idea some thought has to go into. I won't be taking on anything like that in my final months here.
It's something that the membership should present to the next BOD.

I be happy to let my garage as the home for such a club bender. Lol I'm centrally located in Ma.

Actually I think it would make an excellent raffle prize for next years Fall Gathering.

Still could work. Where in MA. I really just need it for a couple months tops this winter then I will prob be burnt out on it for awhile after the project.

Thanks a lot for the offer. I will need to make multiple bends and take my time with the build. I am a newb to bending tube so there will be some learning curve.
if you only need to make a handful of bends you can use mine. same size. But its installed in my buddy's shop.

Nice.
and here i thought FG was the club bender...

Bending tube isn't that hard. Having a notcher makes it easier. This was my first project using a bender I borrowed based on the got trikes plans. I liked having the vertical bender. Made it easier to measure the bends without a degree ring.

Your cage looks good. What bender is that? How did it work? First I was looking at affordablebenders.com but I see the dies are 7" radius, and hydraulic.

I would love to borrow one. But if we can get together a few ppl to split it then the price would be very fair. I wouldn't need it set up in my shop all the time.

I have a few ideas rolling around in my head. Top secret stuff.
All I know about benders is they make cool things.

.

I'm near Boston. I'm about 2 hours from you I figure.

Hey Nick. That is the same bender I was talking about. That is a descent deal. That's about $225 of list without shipping. hmmm
One of the LeMons race teams in NH has a bender and notcher for sale for $850. They were not interested in splitting the bender and the notcher - I asked 'cause I already have a bender and just wanted the notcher.

I'd loan my bender but it's in IN and I'm in Springfield MA...

The problem I see with the JD2 bender is how are you going to mount it if it gets loaned out. That pedestal is meant to be bolted to the floor. You need to pull a long bar to get it to bend so its not something that can be free standing. Another option to the Rogue I posted above would be the Pro Tools one shot bender. I think the drawback for that is you can only do 90 degree angles. I think a couple people in the club have this bender.

My brother sunk bolts in sonnet tube in his yard and his buddy did the same when they went in on a jd2 bender. It worked well, covered it with a bucket and some sod when not in use.
