Sounds good on the pickup for next week. I'm excited to start bending. Glad we could all pool together on a very useful tool. Thanks for picking the stuff up Rick. Let me know how you want to be re-inbursed.

The software does look cool. The youtube vid on it is quite good also. But who wants to cut out skilled labor....

So I need to start prepping for my tube project. First up is to remove the flares, do body work to rear quarters, driv. rear door, and spray monstaliner on the lower section (lower of two tone). I think I have a good plan on the tube flares and rear quarter protection......well, at least I have a material list..

I honestly don't have the time or money to invest in me to become skilled at drawing things out on paper and calculating stretch and spring back.

I'll stick with the skills I already have and actually look forward to putting them to use on something other than cardboard boxes.

Are we getting the software?

Nice! Thanks Rick. How does it look? When I talked to Keith he said it was all disassemled...did they assemble it or is it self explanitory?
Bender has been paid for and picked up. Please send payment to landtank@comcast.net through paypal as gift or contact me for other arrangements.

thanks for the payments guys. I talked with Scott and he is not interested in the software so without an immediate need I'm willing to wait and put some time into finding a laptop to run it on.

I did talk to Keith about it and he stated that not getting that software was likely the biggest mistake they made. Lots of bending and fitting issues putting the cay cage together.

Why is he not interested? It's a no brainer?   :bang: I want this software. And if I have to buy it myself I will.

Sry guys. How much is the software anyways? My reasoning was the lack of desire to learn a new program. I think it looks very useful though.

The software is $275. And there's nothing to learn everything is right there. You plug in a few numbers and bam your done. You get better bends with less waste. No pen and paper. No scratching your head. Just great bends every time!

I don't have the cash to layout right now for the software. The last piece is a Plane of bend bracket and digital level.

The POB brackets I've seen are not so position positive but are designed for a wide variety of tubing sizes. Making one specifically for 1.75" tubing would be better.

I've been wanting tube fenders for a while. But look what showed up at work today. I don't know how to use it but I guess that will come with time.

Spoke with the shop supervisor today about the bender. Was told it was only capable of bending EMT and rigid conduit. It can't handle hardened steel :(

^LOL!!

Not so funny my pipe(tube) dreams have been kinked. I have no space to use the bender that you guys are getting. Maybe I can get stuff bent when it is at Scott's place. I this is cool with Scott I have no problem chipping in on the software.

Rick,

If you have something in mind I can make a couple. I need one of those for myself anyway...

this is what I have in mind. It's designed around a harbor freight angle finder and clamps onto the tube via a M8x1.25 hex bolt.

Attached is a pic and a pdf for printing the drawing. I can send a DXF also if you wanted it.
