has anyone fitted an integrated (not a receiver mount) winch on the rear of an 80? If so did you modify the rear cross member? If not how did you run it, mount it, etc...

Did a search and at least couldn't find the topic title in the last year.

The website is currently down. A few days ago some folks hacked into a bunch of OZ 4x4 sites. Mine happens to be hosted in OZ (not sure if that has anything to do with my mine was targeted).

For a quick fix, see this thread https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=12729&highlight=bumper

Yes, I've had the yourlandcruiser.com site up for about 3-4 years now. Mostly just pics, vids and slowly adding other stuff.

That is a nice setup. In my opinion, I would think a winch mounted on the rear would get more use than one mounted on the front. Makes it real easy to pull things into trailers.

What kind of winch do you have mounted in there?

Yes, the rear winch gets a lot of activity. As you thought, it gets a lot of use helping load the dump trailer I have and is great for quick pulls or winching someone behind me. For tough situations though the front is much better. I have the Warn 12k in the front and I had a Superwinch X9 in the rear but that has been replaced by another Warn.

Photoman also has a rear winch.

Reffug,

Looking at your avatar, what "rear" are you interested in?

My wifes. :flipoff2:

Anybody get the Ausi 4wheel mag? They had an article in one a few months ago with a Defender, I think, that had a center mounted winch that could be used from front or back. He had a very simple pully system to accomodate both front and rear.

Very interesting.
