That looks good. I'm thinking about buying 33 inch tyres too. I notice there is a bigger gap between the top of the wheel and the wheel arch at the front, than at the rear. I have the same - is this just the way it is or have your springs sagged?

This is a real basis question.. do you need to have 16inch rims for 33 inch tyres?

no need to have a 16" wheel for 33's, in fact tires for 15"s will probably be cheaper.

typically in the states, tires for 15" wheels are measured in inches by diameter and width. And usually when you jump up to 16" wheels the measurments change to metric, with in mm and aspect (?) ratio.

EDIT: Do you get any rubbing with the 12.5"s?

Jim, follow the lines on the truck and you'll see that the rear fender lip is lower than the front fender lip...this is often compounded with sagged springs to create a really sagged look.

Looks like the lift is longer shackles and stock springs. Not a combination that I would favor. The only problem as you go up in tire/rim size is (unsprung) weight.

I wasn't referring to any particular rig....just the lines of the fenders not being equidistand from the beltline of the truck.

a 33" spare wont fit under mine but i have a custom hitch so i dunno...

not easily....that's why the Kaymar's on the rear of our rig. besides, big PITA to lug a 33" or bigger tire out from under your truck, especially in the mud or snow....

True. But IMHO, a bigger PITA to move that swing away carrier every time you need to get into the back of your rig. I think roofrack mount mo' betta.

ya, roofrack option is very cool too....

gotta say though, the swing away tire carrier isn't much of a PITA at all, and much less than I had anticipated....

that and you dont need any extra wieght on the roof trying to flip you over...at times that might be just enought to flip you over esp. on a soa...
 
33" tire will fit under your rig, Kaymar not as much of a PITA as trying to get a tire down from a roof rack by yourself in rush hour traffic.
