I don't know that I'd say it is worth $18k or even $15k, think the consensus is just that it is a nice, well built truck. And besides if your looking for that setup, it is definitely ready to put on a trailer and head straight to the trail.

Also, based on what Rick just said, that may just be a "I don't want to sell it, but if somebody will pay it then I'll sell it" price. He's had it long enough that at this point it probably doesn't owe him much of anything.

Kind of like I could list my 91 for $12k. It ain't worth that, but if somebody wants to pay it then I have the title in hand.

No telling how many buggies just sit and are used once every year or two.

Always cheaper to buy than build those rigs

Man I wish I was closer, I could use that 8274.
FYI

The winch he has for sale is guaranteed to be at least twenty years old. There is no way he bought it new 5 years ago. His winch is an 8274. The winch he referenced is an 8274-50, which indeed still sell new for $1800. Just wanted to clarify for anyone paying attention.

Also, if you're looking for an 8274 or even an 8274-50, I have a couple that I'm rebuilding or upgrading.

^That damn Jordan...^

@Jordan7118 I wondered about that as the motor and solenoid cover didn't seem to look the part.

What is the going rate on a complete working 8274 these days. I see them for $500-$600 around here but even at that generally need something.

So, yall help me out and tell me what, other than him likely having $12,000 in ACC labor makes that a $15,000 truck? Not bashing, just saying I don't see anything close to that here.

Looking at the build specs I figured it was a $30k truck. Yikes...@jasonbraswell is spot on.

Couple of built LC axles and an Orion. Again, if you paid retail for parts and 100 an hour for labor you might have $15,000 in it.

Sounds like you answered it yourself. @ $100/hr, it doesn't take long to run up the tab. However, I'm not sure you can ever recoup the labor in a build.

If CLC added up the labor in all of its builds, collectively, we are sitting on a couple mil in inventory.

$500-$600 should get you a really nice and complete 8274 that may need a little oil, but otherwise ready to run. $300-$400 will need some work and possibly some parts. They can be found for less, but it's tough to find a $200 8274 in great shape.

Good morning CottonLand friends. I've been away for awhile. I am looking to return to the Toyota family. I am searching for a Tacoma Sr5 extra cab, 4x4m, 5 speed manual, 4cyl. Preferably with no more than 150k miles. The newer, the better. I have been searching '95 to 2004. Price range 8-10k. Any tips would be appreciated.

That's a unicorn. Research frame recall. I think you may be 5K low on your price for the mileage.

^^^^True. My boss drives that Taco in a 1998. Lift/bumpers/sliders. Probably a $6K truck.

490K miles.
