Anyone changed the parking brake wires?

My 2008 has parking brake wires that has stuck because of rust.
I am thinking of getting new ones or lubricating the old ones.
Anyone done this? Anyone seen an instruction video on YT? Or on this forum?
Always easier to watch before doing!

Have looked at the linkage and cable to see where the problem is?

Yeah, the metal wire is stuck inside the housing!

Bummer! When you get it fixed, use the parking brake every time you park and it won’t do this.

Is there a spot where you can work in some Kroil to let it wick up the cable? This may or may not help you, but if you don't have a can of Kroil here's your chance!

I have tried spraying WD40 from the top where the wires/cables are connectwd to the handbrake, but there is only that much getting through and the problem might aswell come back in the near future…

Understood. You may be right and tt may not help, but not all penetrating oils/sprays are created equal. #TeamKroil

Not sure what the issue is on mine, but my parking brake won't stay locked. Any ideas?
