Will the tool to change get out the shims that makes pulling the cams unnecessary on other shim and bucket style Toyota engines not work on the 100?
 
Strike that. Just looked at the FSM and the shim is under the bucket on the 4.7.
 
Looks like the bucket is on top.
 
Here are my numbers all in mm.
Intake 0.15-0.25mm
Exhaust 0.25-0.35mm

I had no real reason to check other than a valve cover gasket leak engine runs and sounds fine. Next timing belt ill check on them, a couple sat right at the upper limit.

Edit: maybe upper limit wasn't the best choice of words, 2 exhaust valves are at the loose limit and 4 intake valves are near the tight limit. Next timing belt should I be aiming for the middle of the specs?
