time for new grips

I'm looking for anyone that has been pleased with their 18 x 33" all season/all terrain.

My 100 is expedition use, not rocks or mud; mostly hard surface, occasional ice or snow, occasional unimproved back roads. Looking for a durable but road-quiet option; anybody had a particularly good or bad experience with theirs?

txs

I personally haven't, but my friend has a Tundra with 33" tires (on 18" rims). They are BFG's. I've driven it on a few occasions, and they did well. I didn't hear too much road noise.

Off-road, they're great. I don't think you can go wrong with them.

I have the Toyo A/T's and absolutly LOVE them, I had them on my Denali and now on my FJ62 as a daily driver. Honestly these are the best all around tires I have owned-they have been on pure ice, deep snow, wet/dry roads, sand, rocks, and handle all with no problems. I will not buy a different steet tire. I have no affiliation to Toyo, but cant wait to try out the M/T's!

after a bunch of research we got Nitto TGs for the 18" wheels. For light duy offroad.

how is the road noise with the Toyos and Nittos?

OK, Got Revos on now, they're great road tires but way oriented to road v. all terrain; and they don't come in a 33 that I see.

Toyo ATs are interesting - and should be at $305/tire - but the 285 is a 32.5 in tire; next up is a 325 which is 34.5 in; can't get away with that without doing a whole suspension deal, trying to just adjust the torsion bars

Any no-kidding true 33's + that anyone's used for 18's?
And should I expect to pay roughly $300/meat?

All tires for 18" rims are expensive unfortunately. I think that the 285s are your best bet, they are slightly smaller than a 33" but most 33s measure short anyway. Although I don't have direct experience with this size I see the following as good options for you in addition to the Nittos and Toyos that have been mentioned:

The Nitto's also come in a 285/65 that is 32.5" but is cheaper ($216 @ discounttire.com). Nitto is the same company as Toyo and the tread design of those two tires "look" similiar. Not sure how the construction compares though.

The BFG AT/KO's also come in a 305/65-18 that measures 33.7"

I don't run 18"s but I'd also give thumbs up to Nitto terra Grapler. Great in the snow and ice. Quieter than factory roof rack.

farinvail, i assume you live in Vail, CO?

so many of you are recommending this tire?

Im also interested in a nice 18" wheel as hopfully when i get a set of 18" wheels im going to need new tires. My Michelin LTX M/S' are great on the 16 inch but i cant seem to find a nice 18" tire.

Pro-comps stink. See the recent thread on the 80 page about reliability issues with them.
