Any updates from people who used products like POR15, Chassis Saver on their frames?

I have been using POR15 for years now. I relined a gas tank back in 1999. Still holding gas. I have restored 4 FJ40's and use POR15 on the inner bed over good and rusted metal. I do all the steps... Sand and clean... Marine Clean, Etching acid, rinse and dry and apply the POR15.
Good stuff used correctly. I go the full route. Black POR15, then Gray TIEcoat primer, Then I'm using a marine polyurethane paint. See photos. Sorry photos are not in order of painting.
No I don't work for this manufacture. Bye, Ty2

OOPS I see you are looking for frame painting. I would not use POR15 on a frame. Due to it's hiding capability of stress cracks and taking a way of welding on the frame. Simple spray paint does fine . See my post on body work for a good use of POR15.

I have used chassis saver to coat the entire frame of my ram 2500, I like it better than por15 as the finish has more of a gloss and appears to resist chipping better than some applications of por15 I have seen.

Following the instructions from POR 15, I have had no luck in keeping rust from coming back through after a short while.

I have used por 15 on my frame and my body to stop rust. The key is to the top coat on the frame and underside while the por15 is still tacky. When using it on the body follow all the prep steps i use a scrub brush when cleaning with marine clean. Let that dry then acid etch
And keep it wet for 20 minutes then rinse off. Take a break. Come back the next day. Apply two coats of por15 grey or black apply second coat while tacky. While the second coat is tacky apply the first coat of por etch primer. Apply a second coat as soon as possible. After the second coat of por etch primer apply your buildable primer while it is still tacky. I apply two
Coats of buildable primer. All that painting in one day. Start early its a butt kicker of a day.

Then lightly sand and apply your favorite top coat and primer.

Did this on my 74 FJ40 10 years ago and am still happy with it. The etching primer is better than the old tie coat primer.
