Phil would you be able to make a version for the 73/74 opening?

Sure its possibly but there is a lot of time involved bringing these to market and I dont see a strong enough market to support it*. Not as easy as a couple piece of aluminum and thumbing through a McMaster-Carr catalog as some have alluded to. My flip out rear windows came about mainly for personal needs and others showed interest. I do owe thanks to everyone's input to give me the motivation to come up with a marketable reasonably price product. During the development stages you get a lot of interest on products like these but when it come down to sale things get quiet. Most of my sales have gone to guys that truly use there 80 series for serious travel and exploring. A good amount of our sales have gone to Diesel powered 80. I get a lot of interest from guys abroad that really use their 80 series but shipping for a small guy is a PIA and costly.

*Group buy??:)

As you know I believe a sale without a profit is a gift and you have a great deal of time and money invested in perfecting this product for the 80 platform. The 73/4 platform would be a very small customer pool so it may well be not worth your energy. Perhaps you could supply a "parts kit" of sorts with the hardware you have found to be the best and let individuals figure out the rest?

I obviously don't have an 80 Series but do the 70 and 80 Series rear windows share any common components.

The sliding latches are the same, that's about it.

I wonder how different is the shape of the 80-series slide windows to the SWB 70-series slide windows. Which also begs the question, are the SWB 70-series slide windows the same as the 70-series Troopy?...or are they all very different?

Fortunately we now have a full spectrum of 70 Series residing in the U.S. :)

As much as I would love to have a set of Phil's windows on my 74, I agree that the customer pool would probably be way to small to invest the time needed on these.

Plus if Phil has any free time I'd much prefer it be spent on bringing back CampTEQ tops that he is always bragging about.

CampTeq is like the Windows but much cooler.:D Lots of interest until it's time to order.
Last time an intro offer with a gift price of $4444.44 other than myself only 2 guys stepped up. If my monies are used in doing it again the price would need to be closer to $6k (still worth IMO) in order to make it worth it. With the average value of a US 80 at 6k it does not make good business sense.

Slight hijack over

Window parts PM me and have at yourself.

Everybody's a player until it's time to reach for the billfold......

I'll look at mine when I get home and compare how the hardware could be used on a 73/74 window. The window size is obviously different but I bet hardware needed could be the same.
Sounds like s new business venture for you:D Let me know if I can help by supporting your parts need.

exactly....@ratpuke

These would be easy to make now that I have offered all my parts available individually. I dont have access to a 70 series but all one would need is a panel template I can supply everything else. The panel on a 70 series looks to be MUCH simpler than an 80.

I think it is, yes. I do like the ability to slide the windows open when driving, as do the passengers in my truck (when someone is actually in the back seat). I'm doing a little overlanding conversion here and there to the truck, and these seem like a killer idea.
