Any idea what these pipes are that are bent off ontop of the engine? 1978 FJ40 2f

Any thoughts on what they are and if it should buy caps to replace what’s there?

You can buy plugs that sorta fit at your hardware store. Toyota sells very good plugs. A good Metric hardware store will have them. McMaster-Carr has them, Jim C. (@FJ40Jim ) has a storefront that sells the McMaster-Carr plugs.

Not to be a contrarian, but it looks to me to be a water temperature sensor that screws into the water jacket on the head. A wire with a female spade connector plugs into it. That wire should in turn go to the temperature gauge on the instrument cluster.

Need to look at what is circled in red not what in the hand. Those are the tubes for the air air cut and crimped shut.
