Somebody shared with me this bumper they found on a popular e-Commerce site from China. It looks like a close copy of the Ironman bullbar. Has anyone tried these?
At $350 it almost too cheap to beleive!

Check the weight of the Chinese one vs. the real thing. If the Chinese used vastly thinner metal in places, it will show up there.

They list the weight at 50kg - I couldn't find the Ironman bullbar weight anywhere.

Woah, I am curious about this (for my first gen Tundra). I wonder how much the shipping charge would be.

Heck for $350 you could buy a new one every other year 4 times and be less than a name brand

Dig around, someone's tried the rear bumper, turned out ok, not the best.
I tried and didn't find it.

Shipping is the biggest unknown here, otherwise I'd order one just to avoid having to re-powder coat mine.

I agree, shipping is the biggest question mark for me and possible import duties depending on how it's classified.

I'm sure your guess is as good as ours for quality. It really is hit or miss, China has the ability to produce high quality stuff nowadays so don't let the county of origin discourage you.

What about a cheap chinese flat roof platform ?? So far there is no such thing as a reasonably priced simple aluminum roof platform.

I don't understand how you guys could consider the notion of putting your wallet behind this stuff. I would expect the ethics of it all to dissuade anyone in this community from even considering it.

The wild card quality and zero support aside, you might as well be burning an American flag and raising the PRC flag, IMO.

And I'm not even a hardcore "Made in 'Merica' kind of person.

There's a very good reason USA-bumpers are nearly 10x the cost of this thing. And it's not greed.

It's all relative though man. Is the Chinese bumper more stout than stock, does it look cooler than stock, does the average guy on here really wheel his truck hard enough to need a bumper? There are very few guys on this forum that really need any type of armor at all. If the other guys can get the look they're trying to get for pennies on the dollar than why not.

Fashion vs function I suppose.

Why not: For me, because supporting IP theft and the $4/hr labor needed to offer that bumper at that price actively erodes our economy and fuels the race to the bottom which I don't wish my children to live through.

But maybe that's just me. 🤷

I have one. Not this exact one, but a Chinese bumper. The truck came with it. It's s***. The bumper itself looks OK, more or less, but the mounting to the chassis is with super thin sheet brackets. I have had to weld it several times around the mounting points, because it cracks from vibrations.
Forget about mounting a winch on to it, similar to how you can on an ARB, it will rip it off like it's foil. I have had to fabricate a plate for the winch.
The fog lights cut outs look almost exactly like the ARB ones, but they are off.

I guess there might be some better examples out there, but you can never know and its highly unlikely you would be able to find a review or opinion about the exact same one from a real person.

I’ve been to their manufacturing plant in China around 9 years ago in one of our plant tours as dealers. My buddy is one of the major export of their product in Southeast Asia. The form bending process and quality is 5 out of 10. The welds I would say is 3 out 10, definitely lots opportunities. Powder coat finish is 2 our of 10, so bad after a year of the vehicle with bumper parked / exposed outside, will fade 100% proven. Rust also comes up after a year. Best enticement for anyone is the price, 75% cheaper than your reputable brand. You be judge, at the end of the day it’s still your money. Just lower your expectations.
