It seems I only need an INCH.

Currently I'm thinking some square tubing, w/bolt holes sleeved would work...

thanks

My stock skid plate fit fine without modifying it, I just moved it one bolt hole further to the rear

My stock skid plate ('76) fits fine also. The drain plug sits just about flush with the bottom of the skid plate. Perhaps you need a later style skid plate (or 1x1 tubing as you mentioned).

guess I should have kept my stock skid...made one a while back to provide for more clearance ;p

Yup, needed about an inch. I just used individual spacers....with the ConFerr skidplate I now have in the FS section.

I ended up taking it off and making a custom skidplate for the 40 last year before Rubithon. Halo design like what Don builds.

Best

I have since added rings to protect the bolt holes...amazing how much the rings get bashed.

Mark,
a halo design would be the sweeeeeeet...one day.
