Seen mention of Antigravity jump packs a few times but nothing more than a mention and one pic. Anyone with one had good luck with it? Comments? Complaints?
Have you had to use it for your 100?I have an XP-1 in all my vehicles. They are great!
Wow! I'm sold. I was wondering if I needed the bigger XP-10 but for the occasional jump it seems the XP-1 will be great. You've really run that thing through its paces. Thanks a lot for the detailed reply! No, but I have used it for my F-250, and multiple other vehicles. I even have a 12v weed sprayer and I used it as the power source for about 45 minutes, and it still had charge. (I'm not sure if that's a good idea to use it for that, but I did and it worked!) We have also used it to raise a lift gate on a semi when the batteries crapped out. For the price, I don't see a reason not to have one. I actually just sent mine with a co-worker to jump his wife's vehicle about 15 minutes ago.
You really only need the xp10 if you need to be able to jump a diesel.Wow! I'm sold. I was wondering if I needed the bigger XP-10 but for the occasional jump it seems the XP-1 will be great. You've really run that thing through its paces. Thanks a lot for the detailed reply!
I've been considering one of these jump packs for a while. In my research here on MUD and elsewhere the recommendation is that you buy from a reputable vendor if you are buying the Antigravity brand. Lots of the products labeled as Antigravity on Amazon are in fact knock-offs that have sketchy reliability and some safety concerns.
Definitely carry both, the jump packs are cool but I wouldn't consider them reliable. I work on a snap on tool truck and I probably sold roughly 50 of the jump packs in the last year. In the course of the last year I probably had 30 of them come back with problems. I don't carry them on my truck anymore because I don't think they are reliable enough to be sold on a snap on truck. Matco and Cornwell can have that share of the market.
Read the bad reviews on Amazon. When buyers tried to get warranty claims fulfilled by the manufacturer, Antigravity basically said they would not honor warranty on any items purchased through Amazon. Some reviewers have laid out the cosmetic differences in the plastic as a way to tell the fakes from the real thing. Amazon is usually pretty good about returns, so risk would appear to be low. However, I'd rather not tempt Murphy's law with a product like this.
