Seen mention of Antigravity jump packs a few times but nothing more than a mention and one pic. Anyone with one had good luck with it? Comments? Complaints?

I've got the XP-10. Works great, no complaints. For the money, I think it's silly to not carry one these days.

No, but I have used it for my F-250, and multiple other vehicles. I even have a 12v weed sprayer and I used it as the power source for about 45 minutes, and it still had charge. (I'm not sure if that's a good idea to use it for that, but I did and it worked!) We have also used it to raise a lift gate on a semi when the batteries crapped out. For the price, I don't see a reason not to have one. I actually just sent mine with a co-worker to jump his wife's vehicle about 15 minutes ago.

Wow! I'm sold. I was wondering if I needed the bigger XP-10 but for the occasional jump it seems the XP-1 will be great. You've really run that thing through its paces. Thanks a lot for the detailed reply!

I have the XP-1, it is great peace of mind out solo in an auto tranny vehicle. I run other stuff via the USB ports....

You really only need the xp10 if you need to be able to jump a diesel.

I've used mine twice. Works great and easy to store. Had it about a year and recharged it one time.

Got one also, works really well. Stays charged a long time, can charge a bunch of USB stuff without killing its ability to jump the car too. Super cheap insurance to toss it in the back and have it on hand really.

There is a lot of info on this unit here on MUD. General thought is good. My personal experience with it has been great. It gets jump duty around the shop vehicles and USB phone charging duty in camp. One day I'll wire up a female cigarette plug to the mini out to give me more options of things to power.

I planned a trip to the Arctic this Sept. Dempster hwy, up the N Canol and any other backcountry trail I could find. And I
did! I have 2 batteries in my truck and a fridge. As a back up I decided on the XP-10. I have a 12HT. Before I left the batteries were
crapped out, and it turned out so was my crossover solenoid! So I was trying to start this thing on one half dead battery. Over the course
of 3 days while I sorted out the other stuff, I boosted my truck no less than 10 times with the XP-10. I never did put it on a charger.
It started the 12HT like a hot summer day on dual batteries. So now it sits in Teri's RAV4 while I'm away.
I highly recommend getting one, or anything similar. Yeah! for modern battery technology. J

I've been considering one of these jump packs for a while. In my research here on MUD and elsewhere the recommendation is that you buy from a reputable vendor if you are buying the Antigravity brand. Lots of the products labeled as Antigravity on Amazon are in fact knock-offs that have sketchy reliability and some safety concerns.

How would you tell? Now you have me worried. I just bought a XP-3 on Amazon from a vendor named "Truck Juice"

Read the bad reviews on Amazon. When buyers tried to get warranty claims fulfilled by the manufacturer, Antigravity basically said they would not honor warranty on any items purchased through Amazon. Some reviewers have laid out the cosmetic differences in the plastic as a way to tell the fakes from the real thing. Amazon is usually pretty good about returns, so risk would appear to be low. However, I'd rather not tempt Murphy's law with a product like this.

From a thread I started a while ago pitting jumper cables vs a microstart:

Definitely carry both, the jump packs are cool but I wouldn't consider them reliable. I work on a snap on tool truck and I probably sold roughly 50 of the jump packs in the last year. In the course of the last year I probably had 30 of them come back with problems. I don't carry them on my truck anymore because I don't think they are reliable enough to be sold on a snap on truck. Matco and Cornwell can have that share of the market.

He doesn't say how Snap-On sourced them, but it was the first red flag. Then I started reading the reviews on Amazon since everyone was posting up the good deals they were finding there.

So blame for the product for corrupt external business practices? I use amazon, but they are fundamentally corrupt so its buyer beware with
them it seems. I've been burned by them.

But I bought my anti gravity battery right from the manufacturer, and he gave me a discount right over the phone immediately. I paid
less than the offerings on Amazon. I too had read the reviews about amazon suppliers.
Don't blame Antigravity for protecting their product, use due diligence and support the legitimate dealers.

I'm not blaming Antigravity's product or business. I'm just informing MUDders that if you buy one on Amazon, it's likely a fake. Antigravity knows that anything on Amazon is a fake and that's why they are refusing the warranty issues for those purchases. I don't blame them at all. It's like buying a Gucci bag on Canal St in NYC and then sending it back to Gucci in Milan for a repair. They ain't havin' it.
