Hoping a few club members might be able to meet Greg and me at Anthracite this Friday for a day of wheeling, mapping, and general re-familiarization with the Anthracite park. We're planning to lead trail rides there for the Friday and Saturday of coal mine- July 15 and 16- and would like to get some more or less defintely designated trails in place. I've been to Anthracite several times now but don't have a firm idea of what would constitute a good defined trail run for coal mine attendees. Hope is to ride shotgun with Greg and his computer and nail down some routes, would be awesome to have a few fellow club members along.

Greg likes to meet at Anthracite 8:30 and get out of the park withoput delay. I like to stop in Minersville for breakfast at Myrtle Mays its right on 901 on my way (and a lot of other guys' routes) to Anthracite. I'd say 7:25 at MM would be a good time to meet for anyone looking for a good breakfast before a day of wheeling.

Who's able to make it Friday?

Crapola,,, I'd love to make it up there Friday, but prior commitments are in the way. I will catch up with you guys though..

I could do Saturday if that would help. Greg?

No good for me, I'll be in Idaho for the weekend trying to make a deal on a big pile of British motorcycle parts.

Technically, this Saturday is our club run date...

I'm available to go either day, but prefer Saturday. LMK what you decide.

Prior commitments have been voided.. I'll see you at Myrtle Mays,, lemme know which day..

Did they serve Greg in his belly shirt?!

Was an awesome day at Anthracite. We did a bunch of trails and found the one that had eluded since we first dragged Eric Oldenburg's 60 down it. It was awesome. had to use the winch a few times, and Greg sunk his 80 deep enough in a mud hole to fill the front floors with stinky muddy water. needed the cable to get pulled out backwards! I believe we know the part layout well enough now to lead an intelligent trail ride with people from Coal Mine. We talked about one more day of exploring up there prior to Coal Mine we'll see if we can make that happen.

Don- good to finally meet you, your truck and you did very well and I enjoyed wheeling with you.

We were the only full sized vehicles in the part today and there were no more than ten ATV/motorcycles there.

Breakfast at Myrtle May's was good but slow. We didn't get out of there till almost 8:30.

Okay, belly shirt is an inside joke from last time Gary and I were there. There was an older portly lady who came in, literally, wearing a belly shirt. Gary was disgusted, I was turned on...or vice versa :hmm:

Best day at Anthracite yet, we found a lot of killer trails, the three 80's had barely any issues...barring when I was mid door deep in a very unassuming, yet all enveloping mud "puddle"

Let's put the next mapping day on the calendar now so that I can block off the time and try to make it out!
