Anyone know who to remove the top nut from the antenna mast? It has 4 notches in it, but nothing a normal tool can grab onto. Hoping this doesnt take some special tool? This little nut is the last thing to be de-blinged ;)

I've done it three ways:
(1) little screwdriver and light taps with a hammer;
(2) Vice-grips with tape on the jaws; and
(3) needle-nose pliers with tips in opposing slots.

All seem to work equally well. 2 and 3 seem to do the least damage :-)

Thanks! I was thinking about going the Vice-Grip route with tape but wasnt sure that would even work. Little driver, hammer, me and my paint ..... not a good mix :D

just put a couple of layers of tape on the jaws, and don't tighten it down TOO tightly. Also, you may want to angle the jaws a little, and try to get the opposing slots like with the needle-nose...

Or just take some oven cleaner to it. Instant debling! I found that I couldn't get it out with vice grimps and ended up wrecking everything. I now have a non OEM antenna.

Came right off without a scratch, got lucky! I have already started painting the emblems, rear hatch lock cover and now antenna mast. Found some Dupli-Color Gunmetal Grey paint at the local auto store and I think its going to look great against the black Cruiser. I will post pics when job is completed.
