Another what do you guys think of this '03 LX470 post ;)

I'm feeling the color but if you absolutely hate it and it doesn't have the full spec you want then wait for the rig that pleases you. I'm in the camp that I'd almost rather regret not buying a car later than buying one that I regret owning.
That said you can always add a backup camera to this one, you can wrap it or plastidip or most likely just get used to it, but still, you want to be happy when you buy a new vehicle not feel like you settled. I love my Blur Vapor Metallic because I like blue cars and have never had one and I like that it stands out among all the grey, silver and black ones around town. I definitely notice the oddball colored rigs (in a good way) like the Smokey Topaz bronze or Sand Dollar Pearl when I see them on the streets. I do prefer the River Rock or Cypress Pearl most and wish I got one with the dark tint wheels but I prefer grey interior and it looks odd with that paint so I'm more than happy.

Thanks for the info guys. Went up today with the wife for her to take a look and made an offer but the dealer is refusing the budge from 13k. I offered 11k expecting to land on 12k but he just refused to move at all. Also started to throw in the "a guy is coming in later today, you should put in a deposit now" stuff which left a bad taste in my mouth.

It's not that much a difference and I would not mind paying 13k for a color I was 100% on with this condition. If it was perfect cosmetically as well in this color I would have been ok too but meh color + cosmetic issues + not the year I wanted. I'll keep looking ;)

Let me know if anyone wants the info on this LX, I'll happily pm it to them. It's been on the market for 30 days already and they already dropped 1k off the asking. Not sure the dealer understands that the color is keeping a lot of the standard buyers away.

awesome my trade in started at 14k then 11k and was reduced to 7k after holding on for 1 1/2 months, and saying this is a 2 day price before auction..

at 14k its a pass.. at 11k a land cruiser lover would take it but dealer only had it for a week before they gave up and listed at 7k where i stole it immediately.

keep an eye out for price changes, dealers start high and market demand settles the price.

when taxes come around, expect cars to go faster conpared to the holiday seasons.

The great thing is that it’s clean and have some good records. And most importantly it’s your choice on whatever color you choose. AND when you buy and older used vehicle the condition is more important than the color when it’s a small niche (meaning numbers, good candidates remaining, etc) suv.

Some people like red roses some hate them... it’s a choice and don’t forget you’re PAYING. If you follow some home they don’t even drive a 100, it’s their Dad's or mommy’s. Good luck

13k for a 125 mile LX with great service history? These trucks are becoming harder to find in good shape — seems like a good deal to me. To each his own.
I paid 19k for my ‘04 about 3 years ago, had 100k. Wasn’t my first color choice (galactic gray on gray) but it was in fantastic shape so I bought it. I had been searching for more than a year. I’m looking for another for my wife and have missed out on a few already, best of luck to you.

I’m def having 2nd and 3rd thoughts about it... but there also seems to be a ‘04 pearl/tan 130k mile LX470 CA car I just found for 13.3k. Solid service records as well but 1 unreported accident.

Going to follow up on that one first but that looks to be almost perfect... I just hope it doesn’t get scooped up before I can have it checked out.

I also checked out a 150k mile ‘05 GX470 for 8k asking that my wife liked a lot. A bit more rust than the LX but still acceptable. My wife is leaning towards that GX because of the slight mpg diff + cost difference.

Don't let your ego and $1000 get in your way of getting the truck that's not too far away from you. The one in CA, even if the PPI comes out OK (they always miss stuff) you still have to see it in person and what if you don't like it? Going back and forth to CA is going to cost you atleast $1000 if not more, not to mention the lost time. Just suck it up and buy it if you are OK with the color.

So to come full circle, I actually bought it. The original posters description of the dealer not wanting to budge is spot-on, I went in 3 times to negotiate. Finally, after the last on-line price drop (which I found hilarious since the manager couldn't drop the price 2 days before), I brought my girls car as a trade and ran through a list of issues. We settled on a deal much closer to where I wanted to be.
Fortunately for me, I loved the color from the start!

I just noticed this one has the Night Vision option, pretty rare. I'd love to see some driveway shots of the system at some point, or road shots if you can safely do so, not many out there on the web.

Yeah... what you said!

Congrats! Glad you got your ride and it seems to be what you want.
