...or so I've been told. I posted here awhile back, suspecting that my 89 3FE had a minor exhaust leak because of that noise. What's noteworthy about my noise is that it's only at idle as it goes away when given the gas. A local mechanic, who also owns an '89 62 says his does the same thing, the noise isn't coming from the top of the engine, and that it's nothing to worry about. The noise actually sounds like it's coming from underneath the vehicle. Any comments, Landcruiser sages?

My fj62 did that also. Helped when I was buying it :D Definitely coming from the short block, I dunno maybe a wristpin or just slop. Always went away when warmed up.

The fuel pump on my '84 heap did that. Telegraphed all over the place.

And the rod bearings on my '80 heep did that, but the sound wasn't quite a tick. More of a tock. And it got worse with revs and with time. :D

And don't think I like heaps just because it took me awhile to wake up! ;)

on a 3fe it could very well be the fuel injectors your hearing, they go click click click.
