Here we go again!
Jan 25, 2020 I picked up Papa Smurf
He needs everything, and I’m going to provide him everything once I get some projects people want to buy out of the way (why are non-personal projects so hard for me to do?!?).
I bought a donor 87 4runner for drivetrain and accumulated some other parts, but he’s largely untouched.
Two days ago, I was contacted by the guy I bought Papa smurf from (we talk regularly, have peer pressured each other into MANY vehicles). He always makes a point to tell buyers of his vehicles to reach out if we want to sell. He said the fella who bought a Trekker from him 7 years ago asked if he was interested in buying it back.
He sold it to one party, who then sold it to another, who ran into money trouble and had to sell it to the first guys dad. This man is retired and restores cars for fun. Not even interested in yotas, just ended up with one and decided to make it nice. He did a great job! PPG paint,new interior, the works. Never opened the hood in 7 years (not even an oil change) but that’s ok, he never drove it either.
Anyways, on Jan 25 2021, Trekker day, I did this-
Do I think that hooking me up with this Trekker is just part of an elaborate plot by Joe to buy Papa Smurf back? Could be, but who am I to argue.
So, does anyone have name ideas? I thought of but don’t really like “Robin”. Tiffany? Ashtar?
As far as the plan for this one goes, just catch up on the deferred maintenance, put some bigger tires on (do 31’s look good on these stock? I have some laying around. Or go super swamper pizza cutter??), and daily it! Maybe slap a winch on the front bumper and lower the seats, my head hits when getting in and if I don’t recline a lot. Possibly a Trekker decal set after cleaning up the paint, and color matching the top.
