Another timing belt question...

Try partsouq.com. enter your vin and choose parts based on the diagram. parts coming from Dubai and is cheap even with fedex shipping and takes less than 5 days or less to arrive. I am buying timing belt components from them for a 4runner. Koyo tensioner is $ 22, mitsuboshi belt is $18 etc.
Great idea. I'll check them out. I bought an OEM hydraulic line from them for half the price a couple of months back.

This Kit comes with a lot, all Toyota parts except for belts (MITSUBOSHI) and idler pulleys (Koyo). I don’t know why use aftermarket belts when the genuine belts seem comparable in price, but those idler pulleys from T are $$$.

Again regarding the belts, the serpentine belt part number from T changes after 2004. I don’t know what the difference is, which makes me wonder about which the after market parts correspond to.

According to the mcgeorge Toyota website, the timing belt 90916-02586 is for up to 2004

Serpentine Belt - Toyota (90916-02586) | Toyota Parts

and 13568-09070 is for later

Great write up. Thx for the Ebay link.

Get a new fan bracket, drive belt idler, serp belt tensioner too. My thought was replace the other bearings and moving parts at the same time. I bought the TKT-021 kit, for my timing belt.

Here they are on Amazon, at least what fit my 2000 LX.
Fan Bracket
Idler Pulley
Serpentine Belt Tensioner

I also bought a new fan clutch. The Aisin version since its not much money.

Yeah there is a lot to be had "while you're in there" if you are not careful a $1k job can turn into $2k in parts!!
But like others have said, if you are not aware of the service history of those items, you won't have a better opportunity to handle them than when you have all that stuff off.

Hell, I looked at a local '99 LC that has 205k on it at one of those small, cash only shops (no price, just throw out a number and we'll see what we can agree on type place). Started looking it over, got the VIN and pulled the info and it had spotty service history at Toyota Dealerships, was always a local vehicle (Northern NV), no rust to really speak of but no indication of the TB/WP ever being done, CVs were leaking a bit and would need to be replaced, sunroof didn't work, locks were a bit sticky, interior was pretty rough, had been in some sort of accident as the A-Pillar right by the side mirror was dented in pretty significantly, paint was worn and peeling in some areas. I am sure I could probably walk away with it for a couple grand but then I would have at least that much if not double that in repairs that would need to be done ASAP.

Partsouq is awesome but they ship via DHL (I picked the cheapest shipping) with signature required. There are like 4 DHL pick up locations by me (all are 40+ minutes away) so unless you can work from home or take a day off, that's the only drawback. If they used UPS or Fedex I would feel different since there are a bunch of pickup locations close to me. If your gonna buy from them you might as well add a bunch of small consumables. I added random clips/bolts/rear brake shoe plug/etc since they are like 1/3 the cost of the usual web Toyota parts websites we all buy our normal stuff from here in the states.

Partsouq def uses FedEx. I did a large parts order when I just rebuilt my front end and used FedEx, but was hit with $54 import duties.

Ahh, my order was small/light, probably the size of a 4/5 cereal boxes stacked. I forgot what the shipping options were but if I could choose UPS or Fedex, I would pay a little more for that for the convenience.

I checked ou

I checked out partsouq and they name things a little different so I am not sure I have a complete parts list. I did not see a "timing belt kit". You wouldn't happen to have your parts list, would you?

Partsoug won't have the kit's like Amazon/the bay. It's sorta like build your own. I don't have the list anymore. I created my list by combining multiple parts list I found using the search here then validating the part for my MY (model year). Part lists here on mud can be 200 bucks to over 1000 bucks. Pick and choose what your budget/thoroughness allows. I sourced my parts from several places, local parts houses carry some oem parts, some of these parts houses are cheaper than the web and you can have it same day. Others I got from my local Toyota dealer, the rest I got online.

Not all the items are stock. Some like the idler bearings are only found aftermarket.

Realistically the stuff from Amazon is the best best. You can buy a thermostat and gasket, a serpentine belt, and some other small things locally from a Toyota dealer or from McGeorge or Conicelli online cheap if you want to get directly from Toyota. Many have been happy with the Amazon kits as that's what many parts suppliers sell.

Check out my list on Amazon Kit / Parts I got from amazon.

New radiator (mine was cracked) and all coolant hoses, clamps, and infamous T-s, ordered from @Onur , but can be found from your Favorite Toyota source.

Denso plugs and coils can be found from many parts distributors and often they have 15-30% off coupons.
